The location and the traditional building. Loved the window seats in the room.

The restaurant had some strange timings. The taxi we booked through them was very expensive.

Nice room, lovely sitting windows (which are referred to as a balcony in the description), luckily there is a lift to go to the restaurant (not the rooms) so at least we could take it to get to breakfast. Nice view from the restaurant. The staff was helpful.

Lacks bit of an element in the rooms. Could be more pretty.

It was really close to all the hot spots. Very pretty view from the rooftop restaurant.

All the staff where very helpful. Asking for and getting information for things like taxis, atm machines was excellent. The Charcoal restaurant was excellent in all aspects. It was a shame it was not open for breakfast, however the staff gave me directions to another restaurant on the waterfront close by.

Visitors need to be aware that this hotel is in the heart of the old city and where the night life is. One night was very noisy with loud music till midnight but second night much quieter. Expect dogs howling in street on and off during night and rubbish collections early morning

Hotel staff very friendly. This is a traditional 'colonial' style hotel so don't expect Hilton type layout. Room very spacious with two window seats and comfortable beds. A/c worked well when needed which was not much in February. Access via stairs but not lift was fine for us. Quiet internally. Overall this was a very authentic experience. Rooftop restaurant has magnificent lake views.

One of the doors to the rooms didnt close perfectly and the locks for the rooms while large didnt feel the most secure but with all the staff in the lobby it wasnt a big worry.

The little day beds in the window alcoves were awesome and the rooms themsleves looked nice. The bathrooms and showers were great and the staff were very friendly. Restaraunt upstairs was okay but a bit expensive. Location was perfect for exploring udaipur on foot.

Not the fault of the hotel but there were several power outages which was a bit annoying in the evenings. Like in many hotels in India the windows and doors are far from soundproof, so equip yourself with earplugs to avoid being waken up by howling dogs, other guests and honking tuktuks. At night it got quite chilly and we had to ask for additional blankets, as we only got provided with thin sheets.

We liked our three bed room with the nice little nook facing the street. It was clean, simple and spacious. The location is central, but can’t be accessed by car. You have to park the car outside the city center and take a tuktuk to reach the hotel. The restaurant „Charcoal“ on top of the hotel serves very good food throughout the day and offers amazing views over Udaipur and the lake. The hotel staff was kind and helpful, they organized a transfer to the airport for us.

    Nothing.

Great location, very large room with desk and chairs, large bathroom, kettle with tea/coffee, clean and quiet. Really good quality over price ratio. Breakfast on the rooftop is great as well (the indian chai is really tasty there !). A very nice place to stay in Udaipur.

The room is very noisy (street dogs), but apart from that it was perfect.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. This is an incredible place: clean, great location, good food, excellent service. The owner made us feel like family, we really appreciate their warmth - highly recommended!

Lake view was only from second top balcony which didn’t have much of a vibe so you couldn’t really chill and look at the lake uninterrupted. The restaurant was very tasty but fairly expensive. Very noisy at night but that would be the same everywhere in central old town - take ear plugs.

Good sized room, charming window seats, nicely furnished, clean and tidy, ample bathroom supplies, tea and coffee facilities, central location, tasty restaurant.

Could’ve been a bit cheaper for what you get. No proper instructions on how to turn on hot water and when I called, no one showed up to show me even though they said they would, had to figure it out for myself.

The nicest hotel we stayed in Udaipur. Room was nice and spacious.

The water flow in the shower, and why don't you have a professional coffee machine in your lovely restaurant? I had to go out every day to drink the coffee I love outside (which I admit was a positive and made me visit more cafes)

Very nice hotel, lovely and helpful staff, 3rd floor, lovely view of the lake from the room, excellent rooftop restaurant, stunning view.

Very personal statement: The mattresses are not too comfortable for big people. Not properly isolated since you can hear everything that happens around you. For example stray dogs barking, Tuk tuk, parties,... However, I guess this will happen with the vast majority of hotels in Udaipur/India

Very professional staff. They helped us a lot. Perfect location. Perfect Price-Quality rate. Good restaurant with lake views.

Stairs to the rooms are narrow, which was a little uncomfortable with young kids. They could provide lift service to rooms as well.

Location is excellent. You can walk to City Palace and Jagmandir Boat Ride, Jagdish Temple, Gangaur Ghat and Bagore Ki Haveli. Ambrai Ghat is also walkable, if you are a young and don't have young kids. Walk is a little difficult due to irregular terrain. Rooftop dining with live music is also excellent. They provide RO water free of charge which is a big plus. Staff is also courteous and helpful. I visited during peak rush time of new year but they were able to provide early checkin as well.

Difficult to get breakfast before 9.00 am although they did kindly make us a packed breakfast the day we left. It was very noisy but we put that down to Christmas although think the dogs barking could be at anytime. And probably most hotels in the central vicinity will suffer the same noise.

Location very good for walking everywhere close to the lake. Comfortable beds, big rooms, hot water, good wi fi and a superb restaurant called Charcoal on the roof with glorious views of the lake. Very pleased with our choice.
