Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe wi-fi system doesn't work with the 24-hour codes. They should allow people to access the wifi freely with a password. Also, I think they should provide towels free of charge. I expect that with hostels.

IndiaFor starters the reception people were not very friendly. Like i have been to many hostels in india and the hosts were just not interested in people they were there for the sake of completing their time. Also the guy from hostel called me and said you better pay money in advance or i will cancel your booking as this is a weekend. Electricity went out alot. You cannot freely access the rooftop. The common area is very small and not very happening. In all if you want to sleep and have amenities this hostel is for you but if you want to meet new people and enjoy your time in the hostel this is not it. This is just my view
The location is good. The beds are comfortable and their is plenty of space around it to put your things.

IndiaStaff was extremely rude. Non accommodating. Full of attitude and stated " my property and not allowed here" "Go book else where" For everything I asked for, the answer was No. Infact, he didn't even provide or guide me for the parking spot. Seems like I was in a jail. Well, I have had real good experience with moustache in other states, that is why I booked it in Jaipur, but what a disappointment and people like this are spoiling it for the brand.

GermanyA big part of any Udaipur accommodation is their roof terraces for a great lake view. Moustache's roof terrace looked awesome in the picture which is why I chose the place. Upon check-in I was informed that the restaurant is currently not operating and I could bring my own food and drink. Not a problem, I could still use the roof though I was told. I went to check it out and unfortunately the whole roof is literally a construction site at the moment. There is no place to sit, many hazards and dirt. I understand that it is low season and this is the time to do upgrades and renovations but you need to inform guests about that before - especially when you know that your roof terrace is an absolute selling feature.
The staff at Moustache is very kind and so helpful. They give useful tips, organized an auto for my early morning departure an were generally super friendly. They were also kind to the dogs around the hostel which I appreciated. Room was great and very comfy too and I even got a little welcome card with chocolates on my bed. The location is great, you are within minutes from the sights and restaurants and the lake of course.

IndiaThe staff was too sarcastic while I was checking in, which felt quite uncomfortable. Although they seem to be very nice towards the foreign travelers. If you need a towel, they will deduct ₹50 from your ₹200 security deposit. But the problem is, they need it in cash and only in cash, absolutely no other options. So please carry cash if you plan to stay here.
It is located conveniently close to the Railway Station and Metro Station. The guests staying here are really nice and diverse. They have a lot of activities that you can do to pass your time here.

Omanbathroom without body wash 🧴 and body lotion, lobby furnitures are too old and the trational sofa 🛋️ were too messy with lots of dirts they looks too old with dark spot, I couldn’t sit on any except the steel chairs, it May happened due to the huge number of backpackers residents on daily bases who are mostly coming from east Europe and South America the appearance has lack of hygiene, specially with those shameless shalf naked women 🤢 who even walking without flip flop 🩴 around the hotel. cafe serving Alcohol as Muslim ⛔️ some rude Indian boy!! knocking residents room door and offering weed to residents!! front desk staff took immediate action to stop him.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, the cafe in the penthouse was unique. mattresses blankets and bed sheets with their pillows were so clean and importantly I should highlight this as for me I would never lay on dirty bed even if my arrival at 3:00 am to any hotel.

United Arab EmiratesOur room was not clean as we expected it to be and AC was not working. They had to fix it the next day, and staff did not clean the mess they made from all the works they have done. Bidet was also leaking. Not worth the price if you're opting for a private room. Better stay in a hotel which offers the same price.
Safe and good location in Jaipur.

IndiaCommon toilets were dirty, price was too high for a bunker bed hostel, i paid nearly 1200 for a non ac bunker bed per night, the fans are too noisy, rooms have access card and whenever someone moves out they take the card and power is gone. You will have to jump down to keep the card to get power in room, locker was not working properly, water dispensers are not refilled timely. Booking was easy but payment was not that easy process.

SwedenThis is my first hostel (out of app 500) that staff didn't just not enforce or encourage guests in dorms to be respectful of noise pollution, but were actually encouraging guests to talk on their phone, watch loud films, and turn on lights whenever they like. When we complained about guests doing all of the above at 3am, the staff literally said it's a dorm so they can do what they like 🤮🤮🤮 The room was also extremely cramped, with virtually zero space for personal belongings, changing etc.... The shower was absolutely disgusting; smelly, full of mildew and flooding constantly.
My bed had a fairly effective privacy curtain (but many beds don't, or have a curtain that doesn't really provide any privacy, so make sure before you check in) The rooftop has nice seating areas. The lobby is fairly funky too. The WiFi was decent. The location is pretty good for a short stop, as it is an easy 10 minute walk to the railway station.

IndiaThe bathroom of the dorm was bad and not maintained well. It is far away from the photos shared online by the property. The overall place needs upkeeping.
Liked the restaurant alone. The food was good but a little pricy for the place. The buffet spread was good and value for money.

First drinks my liquor, then gives it to me complimentary and then forgets. Then its staff fight with me..... Something like this happens in the hostel, so we are saving a little.

SpainNot for backpackers... the vibe is more "weekend gateway from Delhi" or "digital nomads paradise". I disliked the rooftop bar (more like a cocktail bar with fancy restaurant). It was not my vibe as an alternative backpacker.
Beds were simply amazing, as well showers, where super comfy and clean. I totally enjoyed my stay for the big comfort I got there.

CanadaThere is no hostel etiquette, guests talk so loud even at midnight and the hostel does not encourage quietness for guests to sleep, the wifi doesn't work in the early mornings so if you have to work remotely, good luck with that. I paid for access to the co-working station and there was no info to the wifi password, the wifi didn't work Staff are professional but they don't get enough sleep so the night staff are not fully awake or paying attention to important details there isn't much of a hostel vibe in my opinion as Jaipur overwhelms you with too many attractions so guests will spend all day sightseeing the lockers have their own electronic lock so you need to learn how to use them with a few tries
The wifi was very fast (fibre speeds), the shades in the hostel provides privacy, the washroom was large, the beds are comfortable, they provide lockers
