the location is fantastic - on a quiet square but walking distance to all sorts of restaurants, bars, the harbour, shopping, etc. Very comfortable beds and quiet room. i would stay here again.

Room service option for food was very limited. Bath towels were tiny! Most of our stay was uneventful however on the Friday and Saturday we were kept awake until the small hours by the live heavy metal music from a neighbouring bar. Not the hotel’s fault just the location of our room.

There was one of the receptionist who was rude and challenging. This was despite of us telling her repeatedly that we have been given spy card she was insisting that we shouldn’t be getting as booked through third party.

I typically do not like being nickeled and dimed for small items such as water in the mini-bar. For the cost of a room you would think bottled water would be complimentary. This especially in Iceland where water is such an abundant resource.

Perfect location downtown. Parking our rental car was convenient and reasonable at the City Hall Garage. The staff was very helpful.

We honestly wouldn't have changed a thing

We loved everything, the whole of our stay was super enjoyable. Our room was huge with a bath - which is such a plus, all toiletries supplied were Molton Brown. Room service was super quick and very reasonably priced (for Iceland). Breakfast was probably one of the better buffet breakfasts we've had in Iceland. Location wise you are very close to the centre, only a 5 minute walk, we hired a car and there was a large underground carpark about 2 minute walk away. Finally the spa was just wonderful, a real treat after walking around in the cold all day, Elizabeth who worked in the spa was so friendly & attentive - a real asset to the hotel!

Everything was great, I honestly have no complaints whatsoever.

Christmas visit to Iceland. Hotel located in the centre with a view of a lovely (snowy) park. Great location, great ambiance (amongst others the jazzy christmassy music and vibes). Great rooms, spacious, nice restaurant, friendly staff, and overall no complaints whatsoever.

Staff was not very well educated; we faced a situation during breakfast where staff wasn’t service oriented at all; also on New Year Eve the Bar and Restaurant want opens, not good for a 4-star, seems as if they have staff shortage; Also in our culture it is very uncommon paying extra for SPA in a 4-star, wasn’t well communicated and such not expected; also paying extra for cappuccino, not good;

Wonderful location right in the center of town with a 24/7 convenience store right next door so you can run out for food anytime. The rooms are beautiful and our suite was very spacious. Downstairs has a wonderful sauna with a hot tub, and steam and sauna rooms which feel like heaven after a cold day outdoors. Staff steered us to all the best tours and would tell us when a tour wasn't up to par like there being less than a 20% chance of seeing the Northern Lights due to clouds. Staff also sent us to the best restaurants where the locals eat . We travel a lot and this was our favorite hotel ever.

The Borg lacks a good size reception lounge which is normally overcome by the generous bar / restaurant area. The menu is not expansive but adequate. Unfortunately arriving back at the hotel with several guests after an evening out I discovered the Borg bar and restaurant was closed and had been given over to a private function. The previous evening I had been advised that a Christmas buffet would be available. The situation was saved by the brand new Parliament hotel (Hilton) just a short walk across the square. A large modern serviced reception area with bar and large comfortable lounge which provided live Jaz music. All my guests were impressed with this new hotel.

This was my 14th stay at the Borg which is a good hotel in the heart of Reykjavik. Room was very good and the reception is attended 24/7. The spa is a nice place to relax. The breakfast is good as was the service. Hotel was warm throughout. The communal square was a delight of Christmas lights and decorations.

Beautiful hotel, very helpful staff. Large bedroom and beautiful bathroom. Lots of good amenities - very sensible to have two luggage racks for a double bedroom.
