How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Gym could use some airco and breakfast was very basic. Also breakfast box.. 2 croissants, apple and some juice.
For us, with a rental car, the location was perfect: 10 minutes to the center, 35 minutes to the airport and 5 minutes running for a run in nature! Very clean, good beds and shower. Gym facility was good, but very warm, could use some airco. Lots of parking space. They prepared us a breakfast box, cause of early departure

One of the pillows wasn’t very clean. It was windy and something was flapping outside our window which made it difficult to sleep. Take away breakfast wasn’t great.
Great location, just out from the centre so it wasn’t busy around the property. Staff were really helpful. Beds were comfortable.

Had a kettle in the room with no condiments so I am not sure why they bothered. Felt more like a hostel than a hotel.
Pretty basic. If all you need is a clean bed to sleep in and a shower for one night then it covers your needs. Would not stay more than one night. Breakfast was sufficient. The night clerk was pleasant.

Stayed one night before starting our road trip across Ring road the following day. Nice hotel, rooms are spacious, staff is polite and plenty of parking.

Staff was friendly and helpful. They provided great information for visiting Reykjavik in the evening. Room was clean and comfortable. Cold breakfast but lots of choices. Location was an easy drive to downtown Reykjavik.

The breakfast was a bit disorganised, especially when busy.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were visiting Kopavogur, so the location was good for us. Reykjavik town centre is a 35 minute bus ride away. To use the bus service you need cash (or the App).

Not the best location but we rented a car, so it was a 10 min drive to downtown.

We could hear all night long kids yelling in the room over ours, and people talking, the walls are thin. Our card keys randomly stopped working a few times, the employee had to come and help us. The room could get a lil bit of love: there were lots of markings on the walls.
The hotel is right next to an highway exit and there are tons of parking. The receptionist was very kind. We only stayed for one night before leaving Iceland. I would recommend this hotel for one night, but not for a long stay.

Very basic room with not much space to keep luggage and clothes. Although it’s great value for money - you get what you paid for.
Great value for money hotel in an amazing location. Fully functional rooms with basic facilities. The manager was extremely helpful in suggesting the itinerary for our next couple of days tour as the weather was bad and we took her advice and visited troll peninsula instead of our original plan.

Little away from city center that we didn’t realize. So we had to drive few minutes more not bad of a drive though
Clean, decent room size for two, breakfast spread was decent, friendly staff who manages front desk and small bar.

The breakfast was very basic, with a very limited amount of food choices. The staff did their best to always fill up things which had gone empty, but everyday there was at least one thing (wholegrain bread, ham, cheese, juice) which wasn't available, anymore, if we came to the breakfast "too late". This should definitely be improved.
VERY friendly staff! Got upgraded to a better room because we wanted to have a double bed, instead of two beds. Room was spacious and clean :)
