We stayed 4 nights. They told us at the reception desk, if we need something, we have to say. That means, the staff didnt come to the room whole stay. OK, I dont need to change bed laundry or towels every day, but would expect them at least to make the beds or add there coffee/tea, as its there the first day. The beds are so narrow, that it reminds coffin and you are scared to turn (our size is normal, we are not big in any direction). The bottom of the shower was was literally dirty.

When you stay one night, its OK. Just OK, nothing more. Place is more or less good. The common premises: reception desk and restaurants look nice. As soon as you leave this part, it looks like in a horror movie with long corridors with a strong light and some strange carpets.

The room was not ready for a new guest. I did not have clean towels, the sheets appeared dirty, there was trash on the floor, the patio door did not lock which is a safety hazard, and it just appeared grimy and like it hadn’t been sanitized in a while. Stains on the walls and linens, bathroom was mildewy. Then when I brought this up to the staff, they were rude, tried to gaslight me and tell me I was wrong about the condition of my room, but wouldn’t go and look themselves. I had dinner on property and my supposed-to-be-fried fish was raw in the middle. I told the waitress and she said “well sorry it’s not made to your liking.” I stayed there out of desperation as it was late when I arrived and there wasn’t much else around. When I checked out, I found out the hotel didn’t take Amex, which is annoying, but as I was reaching for a different card, the “specialist” berated me for thinking an Amex would work (the most internationally accepted credit card). At that point I was fed up and listed out everything wrong with my stay and he goes “oh okay so now you can’t pay so you’re going to complain?” Which is a wild accusation to make. I paid over $200 for this complete dump, when there are sooo much nicer hotels around Iceland with comparable rates. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and waste your money here, please!

the rooms and corridors are quite old, in the room the tv barely gets channels and looses connection all the time. Did not have plugs next to the bed. The buffet cost 70€ which in my opinion is outrageous

    The reception and the bars

Dinner at the restaurant was very busy so service was a bit slow, but would still recommend!

The location was great with beautiful views. The rooms were really clean and comfortable, and the beds were so cosy. The restaurant was beautiful too, and while dinner was a bit pricey, it was delicious. Definitely one of the best breakfast buffets we've ever had!

We could not do any washing. It is hard to find accommodation with laundry facilities in Iceland. Plan your stays in Iceland carefully with this in mind when booking accommodation. It is not close to any shops or restaurants, so if you want these, then this property is not your best option. We loved the peace and solitude of the location as well as the stunning views.

The food was great. The staff were very accommodating. The view of the glaciers was a bonus.

I stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. After returning home, my friend and I discovered that we had been bitten by bed bugs during our stay. This was a shocking and distressing realization, as we didn't notice the bed bugs while at the hotel. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation, as dealing with bed bugs is something no traveler should have to endure.

I understand that most places in Iceland do not have air conditioning, but the day we stayed was very warm and we couldn’t keep the door or window open because of the bugs so we were very uncomfortable bordering on miserable. I would recommend installing screening on the windows and/or doors to allow them to be kept open without letting all of the bugs in. Most of the food on the breakfast hot bar was barely warm enough to not be cold much less hot.

The size of the room and the views from the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The whole place had a very subtle but nasty background smell of poo. The room had dead mosquitos smashed on the walls that had not been cleaned. Rooms are extremely dated. There are doors to the outside in every room, and it was left unlocked, so anyone could have entered and stolen our stuff, or during the night. Floor around toilet was not cleaned, so was orange and crusty. This is all forgivable for a cheap hostel. It's shocking for a £400/night hotel.

Useful location for anyone doing the ring road and needing an overnight stop. This is the ONLY positive

The room definitively needs renovation. I could see several cracks on the wall in the room. The glass door to balcony had a small glass crack as well. The room overall was quite small. Understand it’s Iceland in the middle of nowhere, but you do expect the Hotel to keep up with certain minimum European standards, if you pay a bit more than 400€ per night!! 400 f*** Euro! Judging from the room, it’s definitely closer to a “Motel”. At least the friendly counter and welcoming lobby (at least this was “Hotel” level I admit) saved you from getting below 5 on evaluation.

The location was very nice. Also the personal was friendly, but that’s about it.

The hotel has an interesting setting - there is really nothing but meadows and rocks around it, so a perfect place to watch the sky. The restaurant room is vey nice with huge windows, so also very bright - so are the rooms. Dinner and also breakfast are absolutely fine and we felt very well during our stay. Depending on the price we definitively would come back again.
