unfortunately the shower runs only little water, the doorlocks need a little oil, the guy helping in the breakfast room is friendly but for this price completely underdressed. we did really like it. but a little maintaining would be great.

Unfortunately they don’t offer the option to put an extra bed up in the room - there is room for it, I believe and would be beneficial. We would like to return here when my daughter is older but would cost us double as we’d need an extra room

The location is fantastic as are the extra facilities - the hot tubs and saunas were fantastic and hardly anyone else used them whilst we were there

Breakfast was delicious! Smoked salmon was amazing. We loved the sauna and the hot tubs. We loved hiking around on trails near the property. Even got to see the northern lights behind the clouds.

A beautiful setting in rural Iceland with views of the river and geothermal areas, but close to a small town with some amenities and restaurants. The hotel had cute and comfortable cabin-style rooms with big north facing views - which would have been great to view aurora - unfortunately too cloudy when we were there. The restaurant had a geothermal stove for cooking which was very cool. The breakfast was tasty with good choice. The best part of the stay were the outdoor hot tubs!

Appreciated the Nespresso machine, but there was no kettle, so no way to make tea unless you put up with coffee tasting water from the Nespresso machine.... Also our bathroom had a strong sulphur smell, which I put down to the location and all the hot springs around the area, but our friends' bathroom didn't smell at all, so maybe something could have been done...?

The room was comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and actually, so was dinner in the restaurant. Loved the hot tub, although only one out of two were working.

The room we had was a bit on the small side with some limited facilities (small shower) for the price we paid. Also, we had a bit of bad luck staying in this hotel during a snow storm, because the room was a bit noisy when there's a lot of wind.

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. Had one of the best meals during my trip in Iceland in this hotel. Amazing breakfast with everything you could wish for. Very nice and helpful staff. Amazing hot tubs with a great view. Definitely worth a stay.

A kettle in the room would have been welcome - as it was we had to use the Nespresso machine for hot water to make tea. Not a deal breaker.

Stunning location next to the river with its own geothermal vent used for cooking some of the meals. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and upgraded our room for free. Very few guests when we stayed (late January), making it feel like we had the place to ourselves. The geothermal hot tub was fantastic and would be even better with a bit more illumination around it (although I appreciate this might detract from viewing the Northern Lights). There was a sauna and a 'relaxation' room, though we didn't use these. The food in the restaurant was absolutely superb, as it was everywhere we ate in Iceland. Don't miss a stroll up into the hills by crossing the footbridge over the river for a lovely view back over the hotel.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Great breakfast. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and had a beautiful view up the river valley. And the location in Hveragerði is a great jumping off point for exploring South Coast and Golden Circle attractions.

Rooms can be improved. We’ve had no wardrobe so had to live out of luggages for 6 nights… shower pressure wasn’t great. Also, we’ve had few very windy nights and it was cold in the room, you could feel the wind and cold lying in bed… heating wasn’t great at all.

Location is amazing! Walking distance to the town with many places to eat. Surrounding area had very nice walking trails, waterfall, hot springs. Staff very nice, helpful and friendly. Geothermal Hot tub was AMAZING!!! So hot, very nice in cold weather. We even seen the Northern lights few night in a row🤩

The only downsides were the strong (naturally occurring) sulphur smell from the nearby steam vents, and that the pool and one of the two hot-tubs were out of action.

Breakfast was lovely, as were evening meals at the onsite restaurant (albeit quite expensive). The (superior) room was nice, overlooking the river from a balcony.

We would have enjoyed the pools and hot tubs upon arrival but they wouldn't let us check in early. They didn't offer to allow us access either.

The pool and hot tubs were very swim'able even in mid November when we were there. The landscape around the location was also fascinating.

We had the most expensive room BUT discovered that all the balconies are shared !! And there are three hot tubs with people just down your window. The room is a bit dirty honestly. The building looks old. And the smell of sulfur coming from the mountain that is bubbling with hot spring is really hard to handle has you will even smell it while in bed.

I immediately felt that the place was looking tired and worn down. The exteriors of many of the buildings seemed in need of some renovation. There were big huge garbage bins in full view next to the property when parking. Landscaping in some parts was ignored, overgrown and just not what I expected for the price paid. The door was extremely difficult to unlock, so they should switch to keyless entry if possible. Better signage is needed when turning into the property as it is not clear. With a large scale investment/renovation this place could be amazing!

This hotel could be spectacular and has so much potential I wish I could give it a better score. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection including hot eggs and waffles. Addtionally, the beds were very comfortable, very firm and the bedding was excellent. The surroundings and location were nice as it was not in a busy tourist area but still close to amenities. The hot tubs and pool were nice to take a dip and of a nice temperature.
