The kitchen is small, not very well equipped and needs some serous TLC. The guesthouse has (I think) 5 rooms to rent but it is not possible for more than one person to use the kitchen at a time. There is a large common area which could be made very convenient and comfortable but the furniture is very old and in poor shape (e.g., the sofa just collapses under you). With a bit of investment, this could be a great place but it is not there right now. Clean bedclothes and towels all provided (thank you!) but there were some dead flies in the room that had been there for some time. The room was also twice the price of a similar guesthouse in better condition in the Borgarfirði area.

It's a good location and easy to find. No problems with self check-in.

The bathroom is very dearty. There has to be a new shower cabin for example 😕.

It’s very nice located near the harbour with an nice view to the Harbour and the mountains. And the atmosphere in this this old house is cozy. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking.

You could hear absolutely EVERYTHING the other rooms were doing. Every door, every movement, every conversation… it was horrible. The shower was not super clean and the water pressure was terrible. There was a very loud noise (sounded like a washing machine spinning out) that happened consistently from like 3:30am-on. I think it has to do with the wind outside, but it was so loud that it woke me up and kept me up. The kitchen was equipped but nothing looked overly clean. We 100% wouldn’t stay here again if we traveled through. It was a disappointing stay and expensive for the value. We had some MUCH nicer stays with homemade breakfast included for cheaper throughout Iceland.

It has a great location for traveling around the peninsula (about half way around). The host seems very nice and always helpful through messaging. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

We found only one bathroom, shared among 5 rooms. There was not even an extra toilet. We heard every move from other guests. The room was very small and barely fit the bed.

Bathrooms were dirty. The one downstairs seemed like it wasn’t clean for a while. Bins were full. The mattress has a stain. We had room 1. The description says” with sea view” but it is tricky. The room is on ground floor and it actually is “street view”. Room is small. We had to leave luggage in the car. Two sides of the double bed are completely closed. Another one is very close to the wall and window. So if you are sleeping on the side close to the wall, it is uncomfortable to get up (not suitable for old people or people who has joint disorders). But the worst thing that kept us up all night is the noise. Is someone is talking or walking or go up/down stairs or doing anything, you hear it. We could even hear the vibration of the phone in the room upstairs. The room is next to the bathroom so We heard every time someone used it. Curtain doesn’t stop light from entering in the room very well. The owner left us one big towel to take a shower. In the bathroom there are common towels to dry hands that I didn’t use. There could be more personal towels. There is one shower and one hair dryer. we just stayed for a night but in the morning we were more tired that the day before.

The apartment had everything that we needed. We loved that it had a shared kitchen, that we could use to cook. The room was small but absolutely sufficient for one night. The owner was always reachable and very friendly.
