How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was very basic and a bit smelly. Reception, dinner room and breakfast room was all the same and a bit crowded. Bathroom was also basic. Mattress was a bit too soft.
The house is located between Hofn and the glacier lagoon. You arrive by a beautiful gravel road in good condition. The house is on top of a promontory with fantastic views of the glaciers in the area. You can also see the sea at the back. Breakfast was included and was good. WIFI relatively fast. You have good views from the breakfast room and the terrace.

No microwave to use, most guest came from a long trip, it would be nice to have microwave to heat up some meals, coz there are time that guest comes very late and some people have allergies in food. So it would be nice to have microwave to use to heat up some meals that guests have with them

Well appointed, very clean, situated on sheep farm. Beautiful views. On site restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Most amazing lamb for dinner.

Wonderful stay. Excellent location near a lot of the east island sights. Fabulous lamb dinner. The fish and chips were also excellent. Highly recommended.

This was a very fun location - on a farm outside of Hofn. We enjoyed see the farm and the huge variety of birdlife on the drive to the property. Spacious, clean room and decent continental breakfast.

The room is a bit too warm when the door is closed, it might help in winter time but could be a bit annoying in summer. Bathroom is a little too basic.
Nice little guesthouse. Our room is small and equipped with a basic bathroom. Location in a farm area. It's not a far drive from the ring road. Breakfast is ok, but good for the price.

Gorgeous cabins! View and walking the property. Got to see a baby lamb being born! The farmer was so inviting to have us come in to the barn! Food was delicious! Have the dinner. So good.

If I was to be very critical the access to the chalet was a little awkward with heavy bags, being down either short steep slope or fairy narrow staircase. We were also unlucky in having several children, from the neighbouring chalet, burning off their energy in front of our chalet for a couple of hours. However this was not the owners fault and on the second night they had left and so we could fully enjoy the views over the ice sheet and listen to the birds.
We had our own chalet set apart from the house and the other residential block with only one other chalet as a near neighbour. This provided an excellent outlook. The constant accompaniment of bird calls was a real treat too. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast offered plenty of choice.

pretty much all good. We put our cooler bag and drinks outside the door as it was cold at night
the room was quite spacious and clean. Had 2 very nice windows we enjoyed looking and listening to the birds and animals. got a good nights rest andplenty of breakfast choices ...coffee was drip not espresso. Could view glacier from window

The approach road to reach the property is not paved so could be a bit challenging if it is snow covered.
This was the best stay of our entire Iceland trip. We had booked the private washroom rooms and those are just across the main reception area. Fantastic room with super scenic views of the surrounding. We got to see northern lights at this location. Dinner provided by the hotel was super tasty. Staff was also very friendly.

They could have added some more options on the bread for people who don't/can't eat dairy and meat, there was only jam..But they don't have lots of options in iceland i think.. The room was very warm, too warm. I missed a couch in the common area (to sit after dinner) but in the summer you have chairs outside.
nice surroundings, nice staff, good diner and breakfast with fresh bread (i asked for some dairy free products and there was crusli, egg, jam and oat milk). bed was comfy. Good value for your money, since breakfast was included.
