We booked a cottage with owm bathroom. Well there was a bathroom, but no shower which we would have expected. We needed to use the common showers of the camping site some meters away. When we made our booking, there was no information or hint that the bathroom will be without shower, this should definitively be made clear.

As we came in after hours we had to call to get the instructions on how to get into our cottage (it was easy) but we had no working phone in Iceland and did write prior to get instruction which we did not get by email. We would have liked the instruction on how to operate ourselves the spa. Oil salt and pepper would have been nice to have at the cottage so bring your own. We used google translate to understand the guest instructions in Icelandic.

The view on the river was great. The kitchen had all the basics needed. The 2 room cottage was a good size. The table on the deck was lovely as we could eat outside and we cooked on the BBQ.

We actually ordered 2 cabins, not to mentioned they provided us two cabins with two different state, both are far from each other. When we reached the reception, we had to call to get the keys, took them too long to pick up the phone, just to let us know keys are on the door, no point fiddling with the pin lock fyi. Cabins are also on the warmer side and I’m saying this as a traveller from a warm country

Terrible stay, stayed in cabin 11 and it was infected with bed bugs, we found it out too late, the cabin is in terrible condition, sofa leather falling off, curtains aren’t working, kitchen aren’t well equipped, sauna is broken, water smells the worst here out of my road trip round Iceland :(

When we arrived, there was no one at the reception. There was a phonenumber we could call, but the line was bad and we did not understand the man talking to us. He was not very patience or helpful. We asked him how to find our cottage and the answer was; just drive around. Arriving at the cottage, there was no double bed, while the description on Booking and the facilities list both said there should be one. Instead there were two separate beds. Same for the bathroom, there was none. So no shower, only a toilet. Both the description on Booking and the facilities list said there should be a bathroom. We called the man again and he told us we could shower at the office the next morning, wich was better than nothing but not really what we expected and wanted.

The cottage was clean.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. Buyer beware. They use a bait and switch technique to confirm a room and at check-in time "do not have it." In my case, the owner even showed me the confirmed room I booked (and had already paid for) on his computer screen, not to mention I had emails and texts confirming as well. His answer was to shrug his shoulders and just say, "I don't have it." He wanted us to accept the subpar alternative (issue being a private cabin with private bathroom versus alternative small room with shared bathroom) and then tried to switch us to his friend's creepy property across town next to a cemetery. Avoid at all costs. And do not count on Booking.com to help in any way. They are unresponsive and not up to 21st-century standards of customer service. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

It didn’t have a wifi connection; no shower and no instructions or info before hand about this; no info about the cottage or how to get in and nobody at the reception even though there should have been (considering the time we arrived: 16:30) - we had to call and the guy who answered us barely spoke English; before we arrived we received some instructions about a hot tub and sauna, but our cottage didn’t have such services; the cottage wasn’t provided with basic things such as salt, sugar or coffee so we couldn’t cook nor have breakfast; the pillow cases were dirty: I found hair on mine.

Manager was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. He left several of us waiting for his return to give us keys even though it states they would be In a lock box and we would be given combination when we arrived and called. We did not receive the cabin we booked. Manager said he was giving us a bigger cabin but I wish I had said no. The cabin we booked had a covered porch to use bbq grill in case of rain. The cabin we received had no cover and it rained so we could not grill. The cabin we booked had a comfortable leather sofa. The cabin we received had old, dingy ripped breakfast table seating in both living room and kitchen. Lights did not work in one bedroom. A hole in the ceiling was covered with poster and duct tape. Holes in bedroom door. Windows broken and had to be held open with our water bottle. Window shades cover only 2/3 of window so it was very bright while sleeping. No batteries in the tv remote. No instructions were found to use “hot tub”. It was not worth the money I paid.

Check in process not greatest. Sign on door said to call number - hard to get ahold of them. Had to call several times. Also took alittle figuring out how to fill the hot tub as no instructions were anywhere- was fabulous once it was filled! 😊

I booked a cottage with a bathroom- we had a toilet but NO shower! There were only two showers in the whole campsite and the water stunk of sulphur. There was no paved parking bay in front of our cottage and no path to the cottage - just long, wet grass to walk through. The description of the room I booked said there was a sofa / NO sofa! I did not get what I booked and paid for. The check in process was very annoying as had to phone a number to get our room details. Management were quite rude and unhelpful. I have never written a bad review but this was the worst customer service and value for money I have ever experienced.

Exterior cottage door would not close easily. No windows to open for fresh air. Sulfur gas smell was coming from the bathroom drains. No hot tub as described. Check in process was sloppy. Not a welcoming host. There was cobwebs and flies inside.

We did not get the cabin we booked. The cabins were not clean and multiple things were not in working order. Staff was uninterested and unhelpful.

Described as having an ensuite bathroom pictured with bath / shower on nooking.com, it didn't have either. (The alternative option was cottage with shared bathroom the assumption being this had a private ensuite) The doors and windows all had gaps around them allowing a draft to blow in. The property didn't have a kettle, yet it had an electric whisk. The sound of water running all night. The bedding was well past its best. We paid more for this than we did a hotel with breakfast the following night. Complete RIP Off.

You have to use the phone to call the receptionist for check-in. My Canadian phone provider charges 30$ day even if you do just one call, so the checkin was a bit expensive in my case. It would be better to receive pin code or other information by e-mail, the wi-fi is available in cafe ant gas stations.

Very good place to stay when you do long ride between Reykjavik and Acureiry or Myvatn. We had small house for two persons; it was very calm. There was kitchen place that was not indicated in description so we could have our own breakfast.
