Good place to visit the Area around akuryieri and myvatn. Not to far to drive in both directions. Very good breakfast and a fantastic dinner (iceland menu). Very friendly staff and they have a hot tup in front of the house. It's great.

We added our son to breakfast and since it was the last place in the area that still had room and he didn’t have a bed they gave us pillow and blankets for him. If you are put on the second floor of the building on right hands, be careful when you going down stairs, both my husband and my son bumped their head as the wall above is too low and there’s no warning sigh at all. THEY ARE NOT TOO TALL, so be careful! Also felt funny as I booked 2rooms one for my own family of 3 and the other is bigger room for my friend’s family of 4, when we arrived and paid separately, I’m charged higher price than my friend, when I message the property they say to check with booking! which I will check and find out but this just don’t feel right.

The breakfast here was one of the best of our 14 day trip. The house dinner menu was a cod meal and since we had a white fish the night before we hesitated. The hostess kindly offered us trout instead. It was a delicious dinner!!

They had the best breakfast we had during the whole trip. The room was very spacious and had everything you could think of for a comfortable stay. Would definitely come back here again.

Location - struggled with this one, reason for the 😐 rating. Property is in a peaceful picturesque country setting but on the downside, far from everything. This probably would not have been an issue had the property’s dining room been open for dinner which normally it is 🤷‍♂️. Only place available for food was a roadside type diner (variety store, gas station, restaurant) approx. 5 kms from the property. This said, the pizza was good!

This was the only accommodation where I needed to use my eye mask to get to sleep. The curtains were dark but the light came in around the sides as no blind in the alcove.

The location was very handy for Lake Myvatn. No meals provided but good selection in Dalakofinn restaurant a couple of minutes drive at the end of the road. They also do take-out pizza. You could walk this but better to drive and have a nightcap back at your room. We had a fridge in the communal area outside our rooms where also kettle, coffee, tea, microwave and cups, glasses, plates were all provided with a small table also. Hot tub had great view and fed from mountain water. Ample parking. Warm room.

Geothermal spring pool at the facility was good. Location of the guesthouse is good. Breakfast was very good. They made vegan waffles for us.
