Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalRoom a little far from bathrooms. Hard to organize things in the capsule. Maybe easier for young people!
Nice kitchen and hosts.

Czech RepublicThe older lady at the reception could be a little bit more polite. Also it was a bit expensive for a hostel.
We appreciated sleeping capsule because there was no daylight. As during the time when we went there was no dark.

Switzerland- Quality of the plastic pods could be better/more sturdy - expected a bit more help for my questions I had - not really a hostel experience, maybe because of a big school group being there (more anonymous than other hostels)
- Flexibility of owner arriving after midnight - very very central

Czech RepublicThe capsules looks robust but it’s rather cheap china plastic boxes. The cleanliness inside was average.
Our kids wanted to try sleeping in these capsules. It was good experience for a good price. We liked shared eating room, tea/coffee availability and several showers available.

CanadaThere was free parking overnight, but not during the day. The plastic pods were more flimsy than they looked in the pictures.
The location was great, it was easy to walk to most places. The privacy of your own pod was nice.

United StatesThe pods worked well for my family. The kitchen was decent, and the location was also good. My family and I were driving the ring road, and only spent one night in Akureyri. The accommodations worked out well for us.

PolandIt's difficult to fall asleep in capsulas becasue you hear every single noise from neighbour's capsulas. The lockers for luggage are too small, we had to keep them in the corridor where someone could stole sth.
The location and communication with the staff was very good

United StatesPods provide privacy but noise travels a lot! Most guests respected quiet hours overall
Very helpful and friendly staff, great location downtown but no street noise. Most importantly, comfortable and private for a shared dorm hostel!

United KingdomUSB in my "room" was not charging my necessities so I spent more time outside than I wish. Entrance to the hostel difficult to find - signs would be helpful.
Staff was helpful, clean everything, tea and coffee unlimited, great kitchen, nice decor. Easy check in. Quirky.

PolandWe choose the place because of the rooms in capsule style and price, and as far as it is interesting, it is not for everyone. They ware not the best quality, even if with all this extra accessories like tv or lighting. So I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay. Also during our stay there ware many people so was a bit crowded on corridors or in the kitchen.
The hostel was in a good localization (close to bigger city parking), and had very good organized kitchen. Another plus was that the shared bathrooms ware all with showers and toilet. The capsule could be interesting experience (we got capsule for two people and there ware enough room for everyone). Great thing was the terrace where you can enjoy your time.

GermanyI found the sleeping pod itself a bit too warm, and no option (or didn’t understand how) to cool down. Bed itself was not too comfortable. But still got some sleep. Towel to rent only.
Easy checkin, enough bathrooms, very central location.

DenmarkThe bathrooms didn’t seem to get cleaned during our stay and gathered a lot of dust. The cooking area is very limited so if you are there in high season and want to cook your own food you may encounter problems. There’s a lot of good restaurants though. There’s not a lot of natural light and the decor is quite mismatched and dark in colour which doesn’t help the lack of light.
Great placement, fun concept with the sleeping pods. People were considerate, and the relaxation area was nice. A lot of sitting space for meals.

IcelandThe ventilation noise in the cubicles. I am used to sleeping in complete silence.
The place is clean and well organized. The cubicles are a comfortable size. The kitchen is well equipped and the common areas excellent. The cubicles are a bit noisy so I highly recommend getting earplugs for those who are not used to sleeping with noise. Earplugs can be bought at the reception. The owners are really accommodating and want every guest to be satisfied.

IcelandThere were only two bathrooms open which resulted in waiting a few times. The chill out area is quite small and does not have a sofa. The charging panel and headphones in the capsule didn't work well and in the night it was still a bit bright because you cannot turn of all the button lights.
There were a lot of kitchen items to use (including coffee and tee) and the staff cleaned the dishes. We had enough space on the capsule and were able to store a few clothes outside in a shelf. Self-Check-In was really easy as well as the Check-Out.

SlovakiaTowels are 1000 ISK extra to rent, no big deal if you bring your own. There are lockers for your baggage in the hallway, however you need to bring your own lock. The capsules are plastic and a bit rattly, mainly the opening and closing of doors is quite noisy, luckily other guests were considerate. The capsules aren't light tight and light from the hallway was leaking in when trying to fall asleep. Since there wasn't too many guests only one bathroom was open for use, which was inconvenient in the morning. Also the doors of the bathrooms don't have occupancy indicator, so you never know, if the door is closed.
The hostel is in a great area, parking is not a problem with free parking in the city between 4pm and 10am. Self check in was nice, the hostel wasn't full and the night was surprisingly quiet. Complimentary tea and coffee at any time. The kitchen has a big cooler for guests to store their food. Kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances and cookware. Nice common area with lots of plugs to charge your phone or to do some work.

United KingdomReally kind, helpful and supportive team. Made me feel very welcome and they were super flexible with bag storage, check in and check out. The capsules were definitely something new to me. I wouldn’t say the most accessible or comfortable solution I ever came across, but super clean and worth a try. Free coffee and tea for all guests and a nice shared area to enjoy a chat, a meal or some relaxing time while exploring north Iceland.

GermanyThough I completely understand, why you use surveillance in a hostel, the signs "smile for the camera" give even the coziest rooms the mood of a train station :( One sign at the entrance would be sufficient
