The kitchen has a lot of pots and dishes. However there is no salt and cooking oil. I have stayed at 9 different places in Iceland. This was the only place without salt and cooking oil in the kitchen. The only words I heard from a staff was “ this is staff only” when I accidentally entered a room with an open door. There were several half bottles of cooking oil, salt, pepper and other essential ingredients.

The property seemed dated. When we arrived, it was very windy and rainy. You enter though the code from the main entrance (not closer to the water side), and so I was fumbling through the emails from so many different properties where we were going to stay for the code and trying to figure out where we can enter the code - since we were at the back entrance apparently. There was no one there ( the main door opens in a restaurant like place). Our room was at a lower level. We did not know how to close the window in our room, so it can seal properly, there was little cold air coming from the window but it was not a problem for us.

The kitchen had microwave, cooking range, toaster, coffee, tea etc. No creamer and no dishwasher. Enough space in the fridge. Our room was in lower level so we can just roll our suitcase easily from where we had parked. When we were in the kitchen, only one other couple was there, so it was not a problem. Easy, convenient parking.

While the door is very thick, we could hear every step of the people in the room above ours.

This guesthouse was the perfect combination of modern and traditional. The keypads made it very easy for us to exit and enter at any time. The "antiquated" interior design made this the coziest guesthouse we've been to. The location right next to the harbour is very cool and it's only a 15 minute walk to the nearby lighthouse (from where you have a great view of the northern lights if you're lucky!). We booked breakfast, which was also very tasty and more than enough for the two of us.

Location is good to start the peninsula trip. Basic facilities to sleep, bathe and cook.

I have stayed at several guesthouses in Iceland, so my expectations for how clean and comfortable this would be were low. I was wrong, this is an amazing place to stay! It is located by the ferry terminal, which was especially convenient as we arrived at 8:30pm and our young kids (two 8yr olds and a 5yr old) were exhausted. The bathrooms and all common areas are very clean, and the property is comfortable. Two of my children have celiac disease, and the staff were very helpful in putting together a breakfast away from the buffet to avoid cross-contamination. I highly recommend, and expect to return!

Perfect place for our family to stay for a night. Very easy to access. Plenty of space in the family room. Was able to get some work/school work done in their kitchen area, which was also spacious. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring.

    Very small bedroom

Very well located apartment on the harbour at Stykkisholmur, which was convenient for the ferry to Westfjords and as a base to see Snaefellsnes. Nice cafe on site and breakfast was very good. The room itself was very small with twin beds and not much space, but was fair value for money in this location. Shared facilities such as bathrooms and kitchen were of a good standard.

I liked the location, close to harbor and street restaurants, easy to go to Sugandisey Island lighthouse. We had a family room, which was quite simple, but ok. The common area was decorated in a old style, which was quite a nice touch.
