Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceMaybe a bit expensive. Also, in September, all the birds are gone from the cliffs.
The innkeeper is extremely friendly. We discussed about living in Iceland, he told us the history of the place, his childhood in this region, had many wonderful stories to share. He even passed a playlist of songs in our la guage. The place is old school, in a very pleasant manner. It's like entering a photograph of a recent past. There are lots of vintage objects and pictures everywhere. Nothing here is modern, and it's perfect like it is. We had a good meal in the evening (even though we did not book it, and came in late) and a nice buffet for breakfast. The room was very large, with a salon and a table, like a suite. Also it's one of the closest places to stay to observe the cliffs of Latrabjarg.

SwitzerlandAmazing hospitality and accommodation! The room was clean and cozy, and the staff was more than welcoming to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location to the hotel will lead you on a scenic drive and it’s very close to scenic viewpoints like Latrabjarg cliffs. Would definitely come back again.

IndiaOur main window faced the parking and the reception - privacy issue - as people kept walking past.
Wonderful host, charming friendly and welcoming - that is the best draw to this lovely guesthouse. Good simple breakfast in a quaint dining room filled with photos from the past. Perfectly done soft boiled eggs and nice baked goods. Dinner smelled lovely, but we were full so couldn’t try.

United StatesBe prepared to drive 40 more minutes from the hotel to the cliffs to see the puffins. On the plus side it breaks up the drive to this remote location.
Beautiful clean room. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Owner has a lot of local knowledge and fun to talk to. Beautiful landscape. Remote location, but the puffin cliffs and museums are worth the effort. Peaceful place.

NetherlandsI really enjoyed my stay here. Smaller hotel and good sized single room for a solo traveler. Friendly staff/owner that made me feel welcome. I wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely return if I find myself in the same area again. Breakfast was very nice for a great start of a new day exploring the area.

GermanyWe had a blackout : no electricity and no internet in the evening till next day early morning 8:00am. Personally feeling, it is a bit overpriced.
The mattress is amazing comfortable. Nice view to the beach and also can really enjoy the quiet. 10 mins walking distance to the nice sand beach. The owner and staff are very friendly and it is a nice cozy place to chill out.

United StatesI loved everything, if I HAD to pick one item I would say to have a better table salt. Yup, that's how good the stay was- the only thing I can recommend is to improve the salt LOL
The location is lovely- remote and peaceful but close to the cliffs and other pretty areas. It's a really special spot, as you have the mountains to one side, and the beach within eyesight (about a 10 minute walk away). The thing that makes this spot very special is the owner and staff. He is very caring, takes his time in assisting each person, is very willing to share and recommend experiences, he truly puts a lot of effort into making sure your stay is enjoyable. It's a small team- seemed like only 3 people do everything there, but they do it really well. As a side bonus- they have a great tea selection :) We will be coming back- I highly recommend it!

United StatesWell, it was windy here, but you can't control the wind!!! :-)
The hotel Latrabjarg was exceptional in every way. Karl is such a kind host. He greeted us when we arrived and offered a dinner of the evening (for an additional price). The menu looked great but we were excited to go to the bird cliffs so we declined. The hotel is about a 30 minute drive to the bird cliffs. We did see numerous birds including puffins!! The breakfast the next morning was a wonderful spread of cold foods (breads, cereals, cheese, fruit etc) , including homemade museli by Karl's wife and even a plant based milk (almond) for me. Everything was just wonderful and I highly recommend staying here.
