How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff is very friendly and lets us use the dining area (only a microwave and plates though). The bathroom is a little bit small.

There’s no hair dryer in the room which makes no sense in this weather. The pillows were really uncomfortable that if you have problem with your neck, it can be nightmare
For short stay, it’s sufficient for resting here. The room was clean and there’s free tea and coffee.

Everything was good.
Someone might say that room is tiny, and we want to watch TV (my room didn't have a TV). But I think everything was there what we want for Iceland trip like a warm and modern room, quiet environment, and gentle hospitality. Dining bar was so good to enjoy Iceland beer and snacks. I would like to visit again if it is possible.

The rooms are a bit small and without a desk for laptop or just to put stuff on. The bathroom is also quite small without a counter to put out vanity kit.
All staff was very friendly and helpful! The rooms are fitted with extra large windows with perfect view of the scenery. 24hr self coffee or hot chocolate.

Bare minimum room (no kettle or appliances). Daft coming in from window. More pricier than it's worth.

The staff in the restaurant and the lobby were really helpful and friendly. There is a nice communal area to drink the complimentary coffee which also serves evening meals. We ate here and it was really good and good value.

The breakfast had very limited choices (boiled eggs, cheese and ham, cereal, skyr, some pastries, and bread) and wasn't worth the price. Noise isolation was awful—you could hear people walking and talking in the hall, as well as from the room next to you. Noise-canceling headphones worked well, though.
Great location for visiting Golden Circle attractions, with modern design and good-sized rooms. The common area downstairs offers water, tea, a coffee machine, and some games (chess, playing cards, and board games). Unfortunately, the coffee machine ran out of hot chocolate when we were there.

We wish we had known about the natural hot springs and public park and Fontana Spa, which was located down the road from our hotel which we discovered on our last morning. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and did not have time time to stay.
Lovely location right on the lake. We had a beautiful lake view room.

The room and the bathroom were small (for the Icelandic standard), Service was minimal. The restaurant had little choice for dinner (and did not change from one day to the next)
the hotel position. It is possible to visit many interesting places around. Breakfast was good (but not included in the room cost)

One of the bedrooms had low water pressure in the shower, but the other was ok. The bathroom was a bit cold

I stayed in a room with a mountain view as described, but it also overlooks the main road and front entrance, so be prepared for some road noise and the sound of guests coming and going. Additionally, there are no facilities for self-catering, so if you're looking to save some money by cooking your own meals, this might not be the best option. During the summer, the room gets extremely hot. Opening the small window gap helps, but the noise from the road and people entering and leaving the hotel makes it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
Check-in and check-out are effortless with the door code system, making it a great spot to rest during the Golden Circle tour. The hotel is conveniently located next to a supermarket and fuel station, with on-site restaurants offering limited options for added convenience. Unlimited coffee and tea are available too.
