CanadaThe dinner was very mid and expensive. The staff was rude, basically made it sound like it was our fault we couldn’t figure out how to lock the doors (it was a weird system we’ve never seen anywhere else before) even though they never explained it properly. Shower caulking was leaking, so when you took a shower the whole washroom got wet.
Breakfast was great and the view from the room was incredible.

ItalyDue to a terrible windstorm, the power went out for 6 hours: from 6:30 PM to 1:30 AM. It was impossible to go out or drive, and we had a reservation at their restaurant, but without power, it was unfeasible. No one from the hotel contacted us to check if we were okay or if we needed anything. I expected a better management of the situation and more attention.

ItalyStaff: not particularly friendly (even for the Icelandic standards) Room: the HUGE problem with the room was the temperature! We arrived to a room which was at 23° and in the bathroom, I swear, there were 29°! We lowered the temperature of the thermostst and opened the windows (in a freezing January!), but we went to sleep after few minutes so we had to close the windows. So we didn't sleep very well due to the hotness of the room.

GreeceRegarding the cost of this room we were expecting more. It’s an expensive property and the rooms are far from the reception. There is no phone device in the room so for anything you might need you have to walk in the snow to go to the reception by yourself. They do not provide any what’s app number and the only way to contact them is through a phone call to the property. I wasn’t able to call them from my cell phone device so I send them a message in booming.com but I never received an answer. Not even the next day. Also the room was quite cold and in the bathroom the radiator was out of order and as I have checked the reviews, it’s broken from last month. We both were our jackets the whole evening before go to bed. Also the outdoor lights of our room were broken. Lastly, their restaurant has limited options. Three starters, 4 main courses and one dessert. In my opinion, a hotel in the middle of nowhere has to provide more options.

United KingdomThe restaurant was disappointing especially the breakfast provided which was very basic. We had dinner there also which was quite good but relatively expensive and unfortunately the restaurant was very noisy on the night we were there (due to some very loud guests and the absence of soft furnishings).
This hotel is well located for seeing the highlights of South Iceland being 1.5 hours drive from Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. The room was beautiful - spacious, modern, clean and tastefully decorated with a lovely view over the lake.

United KingdomWe had to delay our arrival by 1 day due to awful driving conditions. The roads did eventually open but it was still too windy to drive such a long distance. Unfortunately the hotel refused to refund 1 nights stay (according to their policy) not much compassion, sadly - as the road was open from 2pm…. but it was still a dangerous long 4 hour drive from Reykjavík in 40-50mph winds. The radiator in the bathroom was broken - no warm towels. Not very good. The toilet was constantly dripping in the night, which did disturb us. I did bring this to the hotel’s attention on the first day, but they had to call a plumber- so it wasn’t fixed while we were staying.
The location was amazing! the restaurant food was delicious, expensive but delicious.

United StatesNot a single thing to say! You do have to carry your luggage a bit. Down stairs and down row of little houses. Might be a challenge if mobility an issue. But they had parking lot level rooms. The ones to walk to had pond view however and you felt like you were the only one on a gorgeous secluded piece of beautiful land.
Setting! Character! Design! Decor! Staff! Food! Comfort! Spacious! Heated bathroom floors! By far the best stay of our 8 night adventure!!!
