Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Abkhazia, GeorgiaTraduza texto com a câmara lack of cleanliness and lack of conditions. unnecessary and illogical rules, when cleaning is not even done. I hated everything, horrible.
very bad cleaning, the room was dirty, glasses in the room were dirty and the water in the jug had been there for a long time. the beds were super uncomfortable, the bathroom stall was blocked, the sink was blocked, the toilet was blocked. breakfast at 8am was not yet served, we ended up not having the breakfast that was supposedly included. The house itself is aesthetically beautiful but the conditions are terrible, there is no hygiene or cleaning. There are a lot of mosquitoes outside... It's horrible and I don't recommend it. poor cleaning conditions, level zero. I don't recommend this guesthouse, very bad.

United KingdomWe were told we could be collected from the airport, we waited 30 mins for someone after letting them know what time we would land, our phone didn’t work when we landed so we couldn’t contact anyone to see where they were, no one showed up to collect us so we managed to work out how to get a bus. Prior to arriving we asked what would be best regarding booking excursions and told someone would help us with that when we arrived however no one did, we did ask and was told the owner would help however we never saw them.

AustraliaThe room is very basic, no area to sort luggages. Of course you have to share bath room and toilet, even the price is so high. Host said he would be there when we checked in, however, not the case. We had to call his number and waited half an hour to get the room after an exhausted day. Worst of all, even though everyone has an early flight the next day, the host threw a small beer party for his friends or relatives who arrived at 11pm. The loud chat continued till nearly 1am in the morning. As a bnb host, he should know better about basic courtesy.
Location is good, close to town centre and airport. Lots of food for breakfast although we did not have time to eat. Host was helpful to provide information.

United StatesI wasn't too worried about the shared bathroom concept but there were ALOT of people sharing two bathrooms so it was not convenient. Fine for one night stay. We had a rental car which was very valuable!

United StatesBecause it was close to the airport, people came and left at very odd times, making a lot of noise sometimes. I needed to go to sleep early to get an early flight and was awakened several times by laughter and doors closing and all the rest one experiences in an old house. I found myself wishing I’d chosen the Marriott with my own bathroom (there were too few BA for the number of people. I had to wait most of the time to use one) and a sound-insulated room. That said, it was a charming place and the owner has really thought through what travelers need. That aspect was impressive. I just found it difficult to get a good night’s sleep because of the comings and goings.
It was completely charming with beautiful, quirky antique furnishings and modern updated bathrooms. The host was friendly enough - I’m sure he sees thousands of people a year so probably ran out of small talk years ago! The place is close to the airport and that’s what we needed.

United KingdomCommunication with the owners/staff on day of arrival was poor. First we turned up at 20:10 (checkin is till eleven, confirmed over the phone too). There was no staff member there. We sat in the lounge trying to get hold of someone through call and message about checking in until about 21:50. We wanted to relax and go in the hot tub etc. enjoy our last night before an early morning flight, but as is reasonable, we didn’t feel welcome until we had checked in !! When a staff member did arrive, we were informed we had a double room when we booked a twin. We confirmed by showing the booking where it clearly said “yep single beds” and the staff acknowledged this but said “I’m sorry, I don’t know what to say all the twin rooms have been given away because of ‘late’ checkin. How about for a booking that’s been confirmed for months, just reserving and allocating the type of room in advance that we asked for?!? It seems from other reviews usually it’s ok but it was a real poor display of how it was ran that day. The owner was not there - at a gathering in Reykjavik.
Clean and comfy with good breakfast. Looks nice inside, what looked like a good hot tub and lounge. We didn’t get a chance to use it.

IrelandOur room (Guest) had an ensuite shower room, which wasn't fully functioning. I appreciated access to our own WC but the space taken up by the non-functioning shower made the bedroom cramped and over-furnished. Might have been fine for a family with small children but didn't suit full-height teenagers. No sign of ventilation in the ensuite and it smelled of damp.
Location is great for Keflavik Airport, but not so much for a day trip to Reykjavik unless you've rented a car/van - cheapest option is 1hour bus journey which costs €35 for 1 adults & one teenager *one way*. The building is a renovated cow shed and has many quirky details. The kitchen facilites and the complimentary breakfast are generous and faultless.

Fantastic ambiance, quirky and signature, unique. i felt totally at home there, like it was my kitchen and living space and the other guests were my family! Part of that was the accommodating nature of the staff - warm and welcome! important note: the hottub is not a jacuzzi (no bubbles) and is normally only hot and open for guests from 18:00-22:00
