Tv didn't work, heater was broken and hanging off the wall. It seemed a bit worn / tired. The couch was old and dirty and covered in hair.

    Location was great.

As mentioned above, regarding Reynivellir II.

Actually we managed to change Reynivellir II - room with shared bathroom to Gerdi house - room with private bathroom for an additional payment, but it was worth it. From our experience the first choice is o.k. for young backpackers, as it has kitchen and dining room very close to some rooms. We preffered a quieter and more private room at Gerdi house, close to the seaside.

Stayed here for one night room in triple room, beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything to cook your own meals. Waterfalls behind property and close to Ice Explorers Glacier Tours and Diamond Beach. Car parking in front of property. Note there are two restaurants near property expensive but nice meals.

We expected to stay in a cabin instead of the farmhouse. It was noisy, lots of doors banging at all hours. Suitable as a young persons hostel. We were extremely disappointed not to stay in one of the cabins

Was warm, clean. The view the next day was spectacular

it’s too too noisy as you can hear other guests talking late at night and early mornings. you can also hear loud footsteps from the upstairs rooms.

the rooms were so small I cudnt even put a luggage properly. The bed equally small.

It was the accomodation we liked least during our journey. It was okay, but the room was so small the suitcase did not even fit in, and in general the whole atmosphere was quite spare. Unfortunately the pictures did not match to the accomation in reality. We had to the pick up the keys 2 km away, in the end it was not even a key, just a password they could have written us online.

    Very good location.

There are two bathrooms for more or less 5 double rooms and one family room (so for a lot of people) Everything can be heard. It was my worst stay in Iceland. Even though the keys are at the location in a lock box, they make you go 3 kilometers to another location to tell you the key code. This information could have been written in a message.

The hotel is very close to the lagoon Jökulsárlón. I recommend you to go early and enjoy the peace and quiet alone, before the busloads of people arrive and the motorboat tours start at the lagoon at 10am.

    Location, tidiness, calmness.

We booked last minute room for three with shared bathroom being on the way already. (There is two of them for not a l lot of rooms- don’t worry) We’ve got instructions how to get in and went back to the house (it was written in an email that reception is 3km up the road-we just missed it 🙈). House is cozy, warm with spacious kitchen&living room. It was clean & warm inside. You have an access to all basics as hairdryer/soap/toilet paper/towel/kitchen equipment etc. You basically don’t need to have anything with you. House is located close to the waterfall and mountains. I can only highly recommend this place for an inexpensive stay! It was super cute! Takk fyrir!

Nothing - everything was just great :)

There was an initial issue re rooms for our group that was I think atributed to the communication between booking and the accommodation. This was soon cleared up and we were upgraded to two cottages rather than one cottage and the others being a few miles away. Good on the accommodation for sorting this out in good time for us. The views are amazing and to be in the hills, overlooking the ocean and with a 'private' waterfall behind the accommodation was amazing!!!

Electricity isn’t stable. When we tried to open the oven during our stay the electricity of the whole building just went out. We wait for 15 minutes for the host to fix it. But it was late at night so at the end we couldn’t cook our dinner. There was just a tiny heater in the room so it was not warm enough at night. In the bathroom, there was no shelf to put all the toiletries.

Beds are comfortable. Rooms are cozy and clean.

    - the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are very steep, our son preferred to sleep on the sofa downstairs - (not a problem for us because we only stayed one night) the bedrooms would easily fit some missing shelves or cabinets for clothes - it takes an hour of driving to the next bigger town (Höfn)

    - The cottage is located near the glacier lagoons, so that a night trip there can easily be managed - the house is cosy and two bathrooms with spacious showers are a real comfort - the kitchen is also very good equipped - the staff at the reception and in the restaurant is more than friendly and helpful, they made room for us although we were very spontaneous - the surroundings are quiet and picturesque with two lovely waterfalls nearby - there is a terrace

The pictures in the post are deceiving make sure you know that anything besides the cottage you are in a home with at least 8 other rooms that could hold up to 4 people each and sharing 4 bathrooms between all rooms. one kitchen for all. Our room was said to have a private kitchen, but it was shared with all. The balcony from our room was a square with stairs and it is lit with signs because it is a fire escape for the whole upstairs. As notified you do have to drive a little ways down the road to check in, but it is their other location the Gerdi guesthouse where tours are ran out of next door. It was unnecessary in my opinion because all they did was give you a key code to pick up the key that was already in the house to begin with. So it was an extra 15 minutes to drive to the place where their restraint and check in was. It misrepresented and it is just a hostel with a private room.

The location was nice. The shared kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed and they had a washer machine. We brought our own detergent, but it seemed like they may have it supplied. It was empty when we were there.
