Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly downside was the noise from the street below due to the proximity of bars, night clubs and restaurants. This continued until 3 am some nights. Wasn't a major issue for us, but others may not like this.
Excellent accomodation, right in the centre of Reykjavik.

United KingdomThere were a few outstanding repairs that needed to be done - loose light fixings, etc. it would have been nice to have a second set of towels as well because we stayed five nights. I was prepared for the noise at night, and it was generally fine, but it was quite rowdy until about 1am each night. It was a small price to pay for an excellent location and price however.
Excellent location, and lovely big studio for the two of us. I loved how easy it was to check in and out. I didn't have any interactions with staff members, but the whole place felt comfortable safe and secure.

United KingdomNoise from the street . We asked for a room away from the street unfortunately a room above a bar and main street was given. Even with ear plugs it was hard to sleep at night.
Perfect location . Close to the main attractions in Reykjavik . Easy to check in and out. Good size of the room.

United KingdomThe bathroom was really poor standard with mould on walls and ceilings, cracked tiles, broken fixtures. Really let down the rest of the property. All cleaned as best as possible but really needed replaced to keep in line with the new kitchen area.
Location is great but be prepared for usual city noises of bars and clubs. Staff online tried best to move us quickly but in the end we stayed as the layout suited our group better.

United StatesWe all slept with our coats on because it was so cold, even with the temp at 5. That wasn't good for any of us, but terrible for my 88 year old mother. Renters should also be able to use Netflix or cast a streaming service from a device.
The location and view were spectacular.

Netherlands1. Lights - there are too many switches in the place, so much so that when someone came to help us out, they didn't have an idea. Adding labels to the lights would be helpful; one switch wasn't connected to anything. Also, the door you come through has no lights in the room or a switch to help, so you have to move through the darkness to the hallway to find a light switch that works. Perhaps leave the stove light on or something. 2. Add privacy screens or something to block light so that if people want to sleep and others want to game or read at the kitchen table, they can do so without the light in the room bothering them. It listed "bedrooms" but was an open space, which was misleading. 3. Projection TV - while it was nice to have it, the unit was unusable because it uses technology from the early 2000s. There was no HDMI connection or anything, so that was a disappointment. If it weren't there, I wouldn't have been disappointed, but when I saw it, I thought, "Oh, nice way to show movies."
The location and facilities were very nice. The fact of the bath was especially appreciated, as was the ability to cook. The place was extremely clean and well-maintained. The TV was nice as well. The number of beds and the configuration was good and it was a nice touch to have individual lights available so you could read in one bed without having all of the lights on.

United KingdomThe noise, we closed the window but still the noise from the bars and passing revellers was horrendous until past 3am although a Fri evening before Christmas however still completely spoilt our trip and made us too tired to enjoy our trips the following days. The bath was nearly impossible to get in and out when using the shower. My partner actually fell. I did try the spa bath but none of the buttons worked.
The location, the size of the apartment. I liked keyless entry

AustraliaWe were on the top floor and could still hear live music from the bar downstairs till 11pm. Furniture and facilities within the apartment are dated.
Very spacious one bedroom apartment in the heart of Reykjavik. Kitchens were well stocked allowing us to cook dinner. Staff were active online and promptly responded to questions and provided great information regarding the facilities and Iceland tourism. Great value for money.

United StatesThe stove top didn’t seem to be working correctly. I messaged the host and got no response. Also the walls are a bit thin so if you are a light sleeper this stay may not be for you. They do however provide ear plugs to help you get a good nights rest.
The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city. A lot of great bars and restaurants within just a few minutes. Having a 24 hr market on the same block was great.

United KingdomThere is a bar downstairs and was noisy until 11pm. Coffee machine was great but not coffee cups. Unable to use it. We used the kettle which was no problem. Laugavegur 18 where the property is located and taxi stops at the corner (MJUK ICELAND Shop), which is not far to the property. Our taxi driver didn’t get it and went to a different MJUK ICELAND Shop). The studio 530 needs to fix the door. It gave me the impression that somebody could not use the Keypad entry and had to use a sharp object to open the door. When you close the door there is a big hole from inside and outside. This is not safe. A homeless person sleeps on the sofa downstairs. The main door to enter the building should be locked all day and whoever wants to enter should use the code. I went back to the studio a few times during the day and the guy was there. The housekeeping staff are aware of him as they said, he sleeps there every night. This needs to be addressed.
Great location right on the pedestrian street and beautiful view from the room, helpful staff (reply to your emails very fast). The apartment was spacious and very clean.

United StatesI am a senior so the noise of the band and patrons loudly milling around after the band finished prevented a good night’s sleep. A couple of family members one floor below had the same problem. The band was good though. Couldn’t find earplugs at the local stores.
Perfectly situated to be walkable to the main attractions of the city. I liked being able to open the window for the fresh evening air.

United StatesLocation: it is right in the middle of all the action so was very very loud. Live music with large crowd in the bar next door plus people were loud on the street until 4-5 AM. If you need a quiet place this apartment is not for you. The bathroom had a very large jetted tub, with shower. Some people may like to soak in the tub, not me! It was a bit of a challenge getting in & out of that tub just to take a shower. We had some challenges with the codes to enter the outer front door of the building and our room door. There is no staff on site, but the responded fairly quickly to our messages.
Location: right on the pedestrian street, easily walkable to shopping, restaurants, museums, shopping, and the harbor. The apartment was spacious. The big windows looked out on the pedestrian street. Lots of action and people watching! The apartment was very clean.

United KingdomIt's not that I didn't like, it's just that it is a bit pricey, but I think it's adequate to what the place offers. It's private and comfortable, for those who look for a good nights sleep and a bit more of a cozy space if the weather's too bad to go out.
The room was really spacious and very, very comfortable and the view was breathtaking even in Icelandic climate. Location is key, five minutes walk from the cathedral and 15 minutes from everywhere, if you're on foot. I almost felt at home, and every question or need I had was promptly answered, at any time I asked!
