Since it is so centrally located, there's noise until the early parts of the morning. The band downstairs plays extremely loud music until around 11pm, followed by noise from the customers leaving and talking and laughing loudly. You can clearly hear it through the walls.

We were only there for about 4 hours due to a delayed flight, so we literally arrived, went to sleep for 2 hours and a shower and left so we had all we needed in that time. If we stayed longer I may have liked a little more space.

The location was fantastic, we arrived early morning and was just about to put in the door code, when the young gentleman from the desk, came and opened the door for us. He gave us lots of information and was very helpful. The room was clean and tidy, a little small but usual for a city centre location. Located on a Main Street of Reykjavik close to lots of bars and restaurants.

We read the reviews about the noise from the music venue below, so we came well prepared with ear plugs and managed to sleep OK. It's to be expected really with being so central that you'll get some noise from the bars and venues below, but we were still surprised at how loud it was even on the top floor, so it must be very loud on the lower floors. Not a deal breaker for us but if you don't have ear plugs you will struggle to sleep earlier than midnight!

The hotel is in a great central location, about 10/15 min walk from the bus station. The room was clean, cosy, spacious, and warm. There were some reviews about not being able to open windows but we could open ours just fine to let some fresh air in. Check-in was easy, and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with booking taxis to get around the city. There's also a free hot drinks machine in the lobby which is nice to take a coffee with you when you head out or come back in from the cold.

breakfast was not worth it, no gluten free or dairy free options at all. we ended up going to nearby cafes instead. blankets were very small, it doesn't cover your whole body if you heigh is over 1m80

Airport/excursion pick up not possible from hotel as pedestrianised area but bus stops were close by.

Self service coffee machine really handy, jacuzzi with view of the church. Complimentary bottle of fizz for New years eve was a lovely touch
