Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Singapore1st night.. I only got luke warm water at shower....so ask staff next morning. They came...show me how to use the facet properly (as if I don't know how to use it) and everything was working. That night... luke warm water again no matter how i adjusted...I waited until water turned cold. I tried the kitchen sink to see if there is hot water...no.. whole apartment...all cold water. They clearly had a limited supply of hot water for the property but there is no one to address issue cause staff works only from 8am to 7pm. Honestly... what is truly insulting is that they pretended as if I used the facet wrongly in the 1st night (it's not rocket science!) and not even bother to warn us on the limited hot water supply on the cold icelandic weather. That's very insulting and unprofessional. Never again.

IndiaThe room photos shown in the booking website were not the same as against the room allotted to us. We had booked the room specifically with Kirkjufell view but another room was given, without prior notice.
Kitchen was clean and easy to access. Arrangement of coffee and tea made it easy to enjoy breakfast.

SpainShoes off policy but no slippers provided. Very smelly kitchen, a bit rundown. No check in info provided, zero preliminary communication, you need to call a phone number. A previous guest's body hair was in the shower tray, I don't wanna know how everything else was cleaned.
Nice views from the window, good location in the peninsula for roadtrips. The ONLY room in our 2 week Iceland roadtrip where we slept in pitch black complete darkness: double curtains to cut off the light! Amazing!

United StatesThere was no breakfast at all. They had coffee if you wanted to brew a pot yourself. There was a fridge if you had food you had purchased and wanted to keep cold. The neighborhood was weird; it was an industrial area. I also didn't love that you had to take your shoes off downstairs and then climb stairs in your socks or bare feet. The stairwell was dark and the lights were off and the carpet wasn't as clean as it should be for the inconvenience of taking off your shoes. I had asked for two twin beds and got a queen bed with two separate comforters. I was staying with my friend so it was kind of awkward.
The view of the lake/sea was beautiful and close to a very nice restaurant. It was clean and quiet enough. It was fine... not awesome or great, but fine.

IsraelThe common kitchen was dirty and very crowded, not enough space for several groups cooking. We didn't feel comfortable to cook there because it wasn't clean and organized enough. The room itself was small, no closet in the room.

DenmarkOn the flip side, it's worth mentioning a few considerations. Some of the towels provided did appear a bit worn and could benefit from replacement. Additionally, while the well-equipped kitchen was a plus, it did tend to get quite crowded during peak dinner hours. It would have been more convenient with an extra sink and additional counter space. Another minor inconvenience was the absence of a dishwasher, resulting in some dishes and utensils occasionally being less clean due to previous guests' washing. Lastly, the ambiance here leaned more towards a hostel than a cozy guesthouse, which might be a noteworthy factor for some travelers. Depending on your preferences, this communal atmosphere can either enhance your experience or influence your choice of accommodation.
The location of this place is undeniably fantastic. Our room boasted a stunning view of the iconic mountain and the breathtaking sunset skies. To top it off, we were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the northern lights during our stay. The room itself was quite spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen with its own stunning view. There are lots of dinning tables and also sofa with chairs and conference table. Free coffee and tea are available. There are lots of condiments, spices and seasonings left behind by previous guests, all available for free. This thoughtful gesture not only made our cooking adventures more flavorful but also exemplified the welcoming and communal spirit of this place.

ItalyBeds were very uncomfortable, too soft. No place to put toiletries. Quite pricy for the category. Should be called a hostel and not a guesthouse for the quantity of rooms (quantity of rooms/people for one kitchen) and organisation (no staff on premises).

United StatesThe room was tiny and extremely basic - it didn’t even have a tv. We did have our own room and private bathroom but the place feels more like a hostel. There’s no staff availble onsite. We eded up locking ourselves out of our room for a while and could not get hold of anyone for hours.
Amazing location with Kirkjufell views - loved it! The Bjargarsteinn Mathús restaurant right opposite was absolutely wonderful as well - make a reservation in advance, it is popular.
