The bathroom was quite old and I am not fan of the shower cubicle. Everything worked fine though.

We stayed only for sleeping due to the tight schedule. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The common kitchen was big and well equipped. We got very good service when we had to check in late. The view was great!

Can only rate apartment 5, which was a bit disappointing compared to the photos we saw on booking - a bit drab, old, with a view mostly to the parking space (other apartments are around the corner). Cleanliness acceptable, not too good (beds and bathroom ok, but grease traces on cupboards, doors and switches). Owner quick to respond but said he could not offer alternative.

Rooms are a bit like a college dormitory.

Located in a great location right next to the beach in front of Kirkifell. Right across the parking lot is an amazing little restaurant with amazing views and food. Hotel itself is okay. The rooms are basic but clean. You have to leave your shoes in the lobby which we have had to do at other locations as well. The kitchen space is shared by everyone staying there.

Apartment #5 smelled like stale cigarette smoke, and the furnishings were a utilitarian mishmash arranged without any apparent effort to make the place aesthetically pleasing. The kitchen was sparsely stocked with dishes (e.g. only one mug for multiple guests), the poorly installed shower unit leaked onto the floor every time it was used, and several advertised amenities were not present in the unit. Presumably the photographs on Booking.com showing cheerfully painted one-bedroom apartments with art on the walls are of other, nicer units at the same property?

The unit had a great view of Kirkjufjall. Staff were reasonably responsive when we had difficulty figuring out how to lock the exterior door.

Self-check-in process requires a call to the staff who does not speak very clearly. We stayed in a large apartment with un-working door locks.

The shower head was broken, its drain was clogged and its door didn’t close all the way. Also, some of the furniture, like the bed headboard, was dusty.

paper thin walls. even with ear plugs and a white noise machine I was still awakened by noise. never saw a staff member until morning when it was time to turn over the rooms. No eye contact or greeting from them. It was a nice price but the listing oversells it.

extremly loud, and we were unlucky that we had the room next to the kitchen...peolpe were talking in the shared kitchen long after midnight and every time someone was going back to their rooms or having a cigarette we heared the two doors slamming...so could hardly sleep...same in the morning

Lack of communication. I sent a message about check in and never got a response. I had to call when I was there to check in. No one greeted us. The place was kind of dingy.... Many remnants of previous visitors ( very dirty dishes, pots & pans from previous guests I assume, so we had to wash them before using them.) My biggest complaint was NO coffee!! Make sure you get all you need and want before staying here. There is a coffee maker but was no coffee or lobby that we were made aware of.

Location was great as the guesthouse is very close to Kirkjufell. The kitchen, which can be used by all guests, was fully equipped. Considering the price, everything is really good!

The shower was too small. The sheets had an off smell- like when you don’t dry the sheets well and just go ahead and put them on the bed. Breakfast not included.

I liked the location, easy to find and was well equipped. We were literally about 20 feet from the best restaurant in town, Bjargarsteinn Mathús! No staff to check in but they are very responsive. I messaged the guesthouse through this app that I would be arrived after check in and response time was appropriate. The bed was comfy and room a decent size. Has everything you need for one night stop!
