The hotel lacks an elevator. Also the room size is small though it’s adequately designed to fit everything that one might need for a short stay. The kettle was not so clean. The room floor wasn’t so clean either, I found out when I walked bare feet for few seconds.

We arrived around 10pm and checked out at 9.30am next morning, so not so much time to make a full experience of the property. Breakfast spread was good. The person at the reception who helped us during check-in was polite and patient. Parking was comfortable. Overall good enough for a one-night stay.

There is no lift in the hotel, Breakfast started at 7am and was only until 9am. A bit early and we thought for New Year´s Day they could have relaxed the rules.

Convenient location. Quiet even though it was New Year´s Eve. Breakfast quite good with lots of choice.

Almost never anyone in the lobby. When asking other staff I was repeatedly told that the person must be on a smoke break. When I finally found them it was true, they always reeked of smoke, really reeked. Some damage on the ceiling in the bathroom . Drunken loud noises from guests below our room.

The room was clean, nice size, good bathroom. Made a mistake with the booking, the staff after some negotiation helped and fixed it, it was my mistake so.i was very happy.

There were a couple of problems. New staff gave us wrong times for things (and we weren't to known otherwise).. such as breakfast.. which finishes at 9am, not 10am! The rooms must be vacated by 10am.. not 11am! (see where I'm going here?). We didn't get out breakfast and we were famished.. also the restrictive times meant we couldn't use the swimming pool. The resturant in the evening was missing lots of the options -- but what we had was just soooo good and the staff at the tables were just wonderful. Despite the issues - I'm so grateful that we got here and they were there to assist us. Another part of our trip that I wouldn't have been without.

Egilsstadin is a bit of a commuter town.. there's not much there.. there's only 2000 people live here, there's 6 fuel stations if I recall, and 9 car hire places. That gives you an idea... BUT... it is pretty.. and actually a fairly importantly labelled location on the Iceland map as there's an airport and lots of cool things 'nearby', such as the Vok Spar. So imagine when you're driving your car and hit a rock that blows out your Tyre like something out of the rocky horror show, and you have to limp for 4 hours at slow speed on a donut tyre... and you find this place. This hotel is the center of the town (I really mean it.. this hotel is the center of the town). The rooms are basic, functional, and comfortable - and came at the exact right time when we needed it. Great shower (no plug socket though so don't expect to shave). But the absolute best thing is the restuarant and the brilliant staff. I will definitely go again on my next trip.. the food in 'Glod' (restaurant attached) is not to be missed.. next time I hope they have more of the menu options available. Breakfast is free... but make sure the staff give you the correct times!!! Also - if you're a runner - the location is great for running. Lovely. very odd church though.

Parking is not very convenient, location is not perfect, could be in a more quiet area.

The hotel was OK. Quite basic with a smallish room, but decent. Located close to one of the museums. Has good restaurant on site and good breakfast. Staff is very accommodating and friendly.

The shower curtain kind of sticks to you while showering.

Breakfast was good. The hotel provides free entrance for the local swimming pool which is nice and visited by locals. Great location and nice view from the room.

Fabio on reception was brilliant, he helped us out with bags and our room. Really great public swimming pool a short walk away. East Iceland museum also next door. Short walk into centre of town for great pizza and hotel restaurant great too.

Aged facility with old very dirty carpet in the lobby and hallways. Breakfast was okay, but setup was very chaotic where everyone runs into each other. No elevator.
