The guesthouse is very close to Selfoss a 10 min drive from the city.The guesthouse has a restaurant and a good lounge area with a tv and indoor games like table tennis, snooker, foosball and board games, which makes up for not having a tv in the rooms.The staff is very friendly,the room is well equipped and access to tea/coffee/drinks is free at the lounge area.

I didn't want to leave.

I booked a cottage at Hotel Vatnsholt for my week in Iceland. It's a perfectly isolated location so very quiet, but close enough to the touristy stuff if that's what you want. I saw the northern lights four times in a week without having to leave the grounds of the hotel. Staff were very friendly and the food was top drawer, especially the fish. The perfect place to unwind. I will be back.

The shower was pretty old and there was already some black mold around it. There was a school group in the same house with us that was super loud

We reserved a room with private WC because it makes us feel more comfortable. Our room was so cozy, the bed very comfortable and we loved the bathroom, as we always prefer having a private one and in this case was so nice. Also the breakfast was so yummy and we could see many northern lights from inside our own room!! Which was so wonderful. If we come back to Iceland someday (hopefully) for sure we will repeat in this hotel!

Room was basic and bathroom really tiny

Clean and good value for money, ok for one night stay. The guy who checked us in was really nice and professional, he was also present at the Guesthouse restaurant (which is actually very good, we recommend it!) and was kind enough to give us two bowls and spoons so we could have breakfast in our room since we had to leave early and we couldn’t make it for the breakfast served at the Guesthouse. The common area is very nice to relax/ watch tv/ play games.

We want to make our own dinner, and it was not possible to make it somewhere, so we were disappointed about it. And also you can hear the noices from tha hall.

The property was big, great view, quick check-in. Coffee and tea for us for free. The area for accomodated guests was big and so well arranged - you can even watch a movie or play darts.

Very affordable and comfortable stay. If the weather had been better, we would've enjoyed the location more but we really enjoyed staying here. We really liked the comfy bed and the big window with a view towards the fields. We'd stay here again!

The room was quite tiny which is no big problem but there wasn't any place to store your clothes.

We have the lucky to arrive and a staff point to us the northern light so it was amazing, they even turn off the lights so we could see it better

Very nice farm with a huge restaurant with coffee and hot chocolate, the cotage was small such as in the picture and confortable, no complains

my room was bumped up against a room that hosted 8 people and they were loud till 1 am and I did complain about that. the set up could be better.
