How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I really liked the friendly staff. They gave us a map of Rome, told us where and how best to get there. They booked us a taxi to the airport at five in the morning. I am very grateful for these three days in a hospitable and friendly atmosphere))

Loved the staff, we had the highest level of hospitality by Rado (staff ). From helping us figure out itinerary to taking public transport. He had a keen knowledge of everything in Rome. We had a baby. And staff went out of the way to check in us at 11 am instead of 3 pm. Really really grateful about it. Staff used to greet us everytime they saw us and escorted us all the way to our taxi. Any question you ask, Rado knows everything about Rome. I will come to Rome again and stay at this hotel. Thank you for all the help and making our stay memorable.

That blackout the last night. BUT, thank you for relocating my bride, for the sake of her CPAP machine!

A little out of way but transit was easy enough.
Clean comfortable room. Property owner was so helpful in helping me retrieve my phone that was lost on the plane to Rome.

On our first visit to the city of Rome, we found accommodation at this hotel with a very good price, and we came without expectations. I can't exactly describe in words how good we felt here. Every guy at the reception very welcoming, English speaking, interested in helping you find the best places to visit in the city. Every morning they asked us if we needed help with ordering a taxi or any information. Different bus stops very close (maximum 5 minutes from the hotel). the room is very clean, it is cleaned every day, the towels used daily are changed, there is never a shortage of soap, shower gel, everything was perfect! Every time we come to Rome, we will stay here! Thank you very much for this holiday, Hotel Valeri!!!

Verrryyyy minor but if bags could be left on main reception floor rather than downstairs. Otherwise an absolutely perfect stay.
Francesco was a MAGNIFICENT host. He was very welcoming and made you feel very comfortable and safe. Very passionate about his city and has an abundance of knowledge that made the overall experience FANTASTIC. Overall the hotel provided a 5* service if not more. I wish this was rated higher on Booking as that's what it deserves!

The only thing, and this is nitpicking at this point, was the breakfast. It was functional - bread, baked pastry, butter, juice, and some fruit - but it was definitely improvable. Sometimes it had meats and cheese and then it didn't, one day there was bread, then one day there was untoasted toast, then there was both, but there was no continuity. Also some more variety would have been nice, so if that is improved I will immediately give a ten!
Basically, everything was to our liking. The staff was very nice, especially Roberto - once again thank you for the explanation of the city, when we arrived! - and the room was clean and fully equipped, even the blinds were automatic! The location is perfect to get around Rome as well, with bus stations right in front of the hotel to Termini and to Vatican via the Colloseum and the Pantheon. Choose this for a short city trip solo or with a friend, we will definitely do so in the future!

The room was excellent! Fresh renovated, clean and very stylish with a small balcony. The service was also great. Francesco is a wonderful manager and helped us with every possible thing we needed, gave lots of advices and useful tipps. Absolute must visit!

Staff were amazing. Franseco was very helpful and friendly. The moment we first met him he would always cater to us and Roberto as well. Room was nice and cozy. Would definitely come back again.

Everything was exceptional! The hotel is located just a few minutes from the city center, making it very easy to reach. The staff is great, especially Francesco! We were there for only 2 days, and he provided us with a map of Rome and explained everything, from subway ticket prices to the best routes. We will definitely stay at Valeri during our next visit!

Nice hotel at a central location (10 mins walk from Colosseum). The staff was really nice, gave us a free upgrade and shared helpful recommendations for going around the city. Will definitely stay again if we are in Rome!
