Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Staff are all friendly and professional; from the receptionists to the private transfer driver. Room was small, but all you need is provided. Room has its own AC unit which was great during July heat.

United StatesAlthough breakfast was included in our room rate, it was off-site at a local restaurant.
I traveled to Rome with 2 friends. We reserved the apartment-style room on the top floor, and it accommodated us nicely. The Pantheon was steps from the front door! The staff was welcoming, helpful, and fluent in English.

Israelthe only thing we think could be a bit better were the beds, as they were two separate beds the kept moving away from each other, but it was the only thing we would change.

United StatesSeems the hotel rooms are generally small in Rome, esp. at a location like this. We stayed at a junior suit (205) with 2 windows, which is pretty much a smaller size of a standard or even smaller room in a non-tourist city.
fantastic location, walking distance to so many attractions in Rome. very clean room, pantheon right outside our windows, sound proof windows block all the noises downstairs in the plaza, and super nice and helpful staff.

United StatesThe very small elevator only goes from the ground floor to the first floor. Anything above that is by stairs only. It was not an inconvenience for us but it could be for others.
The hotel is situated on the the square directly across from the Pantheon with numerous restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Breakfast was included and was available at a very nice trattoria just around the corner.

United StatesWe were misled and told in an email we would have to climb 22 stairs to get to the elevator. This wasn’t a problem. But in reality, once we got to the hotel, we were told there was no elevator at all and we had to climb 100 stairs to get to our room (with narrow steep staircase like a duomo climb). This basically ruined the whole trip for my 55 year old mom with back problems. Her main memory from Rome is the hotel experience and how exhausting it was to go back to the room/leave the room without falling down the stairs, and how she didn’t look forward to going back to the room each day. She also greatly reduced her activities on the trip because she didn’t want to come back to the hotel tired and then have to climb 100 stairs. I feel bad because she trusted me to book a good hotel and this was a total letdown, even though Rick Steve’s guidebook recommended it. We were mislead, not told the elevator was broken, and then weren’t given any refund or option to move to a lower floor.
Location, nice staff too

United StatesThe room was located in the "annex" which was accessed from the street by one key, then a walk or elevator ride up to a hallway accessed by a second key, then the room accessed by a third key. The room was small as was the bathroom. No Pantheon view. The included breakfast was just around the corner at a restaurant with a staff that seemed unhappy. Both myself and my colleague speak decent Italian but the restaurant staff seemed tired of tourists. The major complaint we had was the price, which was the same as the adjacent Albergo del Senato which is a beautiful hotel with roof terrace and full breakfast buffet in the hotel and beautiful, large rooms.
It is the perfect location for walking to most of Rome's museums and famous sights, from the Vatican to the Colosseum. Many great and varied restaurants everywhere.

United StatesThe hotel has no real lobby and you have to walk up a flight of stairs to the elevator. It did not matter to us, but others may expect a more typical entry/reception.
Great location in piazza by Pantheon, had a junior suite which was nice size and comfortable. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast is not in the hotel but short walk around the corner to a lovely quiet piazza at a small bistro with good selection and service.

United StatesWe booked a room overlooking the Pantheon. When we arrived they put us next door in the Annex with apartments and businesses. The room was four floors up and the lights in one hallway didn’t work. I complained and they said they don’t own the building. Very bizarre

United StatesThe toilet did not flush. I had to use the coffee maker to dump water into the toilet basin to flush it. Problem was fixed in the morning. I needed 3 keys to get into my room - no card swipe PITA. Keys were on a huge concoction I turned into the front desk to avoid carrying the mass concoction all over town. Did not access the free breakfast (avail at 7:30 AM) as I was already headed to the museums. Not complaining. Just sharing my experience. YMMV
Location is across the plaza from the Pantheon. It is also close to Piazza Navona and a short walk to Trevi Fountain. Room was very clean and very small. Staff was friendly. Lots of restaurants in the area.
