Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was far too hot - I turned off the bathroom heater, but the room heater was marked 'do not touch', so I had to open the window - not sensible in January. Wifi was ok for receiving emails, but there was no connection to the web, and I had to go elsewhere to get things done. Can't comment on staff, as I never met anyone - had to phone on arrival, and the door was opened remotely.
Clean and comfortable, reasonably priced, room in small guest house in old town centre, with many bars/restaurants/shops nearby. Breakfast was included in the price, but I had to leave early to catch a train, so didn't have it.

AustraliaRoom was clean and the owner was super friendly and helpful. I didn't check in until 22:30 and it wasn't a problem for her at all. She served breakfast every morning and although my Italian speaking skills are limited she made a great effort to speak with me and help my improvement. I'll definitely return!

IrelandThe set-up of this hotel is one of the quirkiest I've ever encountered anywhere. While there was communication from the proprietress in the days preceding my arrival, during which I informed her of my exact arrival time, she was not at the hotel when I arrived and was incommunicado via WhatsApp and email for a time. I stood outside the locked and bolted hotel waiting in the heat for ten minutes hoping someone would show up before finally receiving a WhatsApp message telling me that the gate and front door would be opened automatically by her and that I should then pick up from the reception desk a set of three keys for access to my room and to the hotel for the rest of my stay. These keys were a little troublesome at times during my stay but I got the hang of them eventually. The weekend I spent in Foggia was extremely hot, with maximum temperatures of 38-40°C, and the old model air-conditioner in my bedroom struggled to cool things down adequately but I managed.
The location of the hotel is central and is an easy fifteen minute walk from the railway station. Despite its central location, there were no problems with external noise either day or night. The complimentary breakfast provided in the adjacent former restaurant was quite satisfying and the ambience of the breakfast room was pleasant, with service provided by a very matter-of-fact lady who spoke only Italian. There was a small fridge in the bedroom stocked with complimentary bottled water also.

KazakhstanThere is no soundproof at all. You can hear every sound from every room of the albergo and from the outside. Like there are no walls at all. The pillow is too big and my neck hurts after it.
Price is reasonable. Good breakfast. Nice and helpful staff.

PolandBreakfasts available only typically Italian (for someone this may be sufficient, before a long day of work for us insufficient). No electric kettle - water had to be boiled in the microwave. Poor knowledge of English by the owner, but it was possible to communicate via Whatsapp :)
Very friendly owner. Pleasant place to spend even a longer stay. Good location - close to the main attractions of the city, close to the university. Exceptional concern for cleanliness - daily cleaning of rooms. Breakfasts tasty along with their own baked goods.

United KingdomNothing, the Albergo was small, quiet and great for our trip. Limited English spoken, but we managed, perfect for Italian speaking travellers.
A lovely quaint B&B almost like a little tower, with our room tucked away at the top. Nice decor, comfortable beds, and a small but clean bathroom with plenty of hot water and towels. There are also a fridge, TV and hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was served in the Ristorante across the courtyard, there was a good choice of items and it was all fresh. Fantastic coffee made to order.

ItalyI was on my way back home from Greece and since I drove a lot in the previous days and couldn't sleep enough in the ferry either, I needed a place to stop and rest going from Brindisi ferry port. I booked it literally 1h before and they were ready with the room. The communication was excellent as the owner contacted me and gave me all the instructions for a self-check-in. All went smoothly. The room and the place were exactly what i needed. I could park my bike outside the hotel in a little square that felt very safe as it is inside an LTZ (ZTL in Italian). Breakfast was included in the price. I liked the family business atmosphere and had a pleasant chat with the owner.over breakfast. I'd stay again.

GermanyAir conditioner temperature is fixed ton23°C. Elevator didn't work and I am travelling on a bicycle with a lot of luggage; thus, instead of the double I booked (on the second floor), I took a single on ground floor floor. The breakfast place is in the former restaurant of the albergo, but the restaurant has been shut down about two years ago: this should be clarified in the offer at booking.com, because I anticipated to have my dinner there.
Absolutely quiet, although very centrally located. Many restaurants and shops around (but almost every place is closed from 1pm to 8pm). Comfy bed. Desk and chair, e.g. to work on a computer. Small but nuce bathroom with bidet. Although I had a single room behind the door, there is enough space for several bags. Breakfast at 7am, pretty rich for Italy; breakfast place is just about 5m across the little street with pedestrian traffic only.
