Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenNothing bad to say.
We decided to stay a night in Salerno before going to the central station and a train to Napoli. We had been a week in the Amalfi coast and it was refreshing with a city with tourists mixing with inhabitants. The hotel has a very good location and the reception is easy to find (located in a restaurant/bar) very close to the room. All personnel was very friendly and helpful. Salerno became a good acquaintance. 👍

NetherlandsThere was some plaster falling from the ceiling in the bathroom, which made it look less clean. The fridge wasn't really working and had a layer of water laying in it.
The staff helped us a lot and even gave us advice on wine, like real Italians haha. The location was good. You do have to walk around 20 minutes for the train station, but the guesthouse is very close to the beach and the center of Salerno. The breakfast was really nice, and the room was very spacious.

ItalyIt appears for whatever reasons that this establishment is understaffed for its size. Breakfast was chaos, turned up with plenty of time and found a couple of hard boiled eggs and a couple of slices of ham available. No plates or cutlery to be found and after asking for 2 cappuccini and 2 cornetti, we received only the cappuccini. Later in the day trying to get service in the Kings Cross bar/restaurant (part of the hotel) was no better, the waiter kept ignoring us and finally we had to go and get someone from the bar to serve us. It is supposed to be table service there. The room seemed to be clean but we found hair and someones medication pill on the floor in the bedroom. Sadly in the bathroom shower the hand held shower did not work and only the overhead bit functioned at all. Also as the room was on the 3rd floor the hot water took about 5 minutes to get warm. The toilet seat wasn't attached properly and moved a lot when you sat on it or lifted it. We were there in September and sadly the light bulbs on the terrace no longer functioned, so we were unable to sit outside as is was dark. Also a few of the light bulbs in the room also had expired.
Nice big room in the historic center of town. It was quiet for rooms in this part of town, we have found other places very noisy around there. We had a family room on the 3rd floor and on arrival it all looked great. It had a large terrace outside.

PolandIf you would like to relax in the evening I would not recommend because the room is located directly above a bar and the noise coming from it is pretty nerveracking untill 1am. Additionally you can feel the whole room vibrating from the speakers. Also if you would like to take a nice warm shower it may not be possible as the warm water ends very quickly and you have to wait a long time before it even actually becomes warm. Bed was worn out and you could feel the springs under your back.
Decent breakfast, very nice staff, the location is perfect, 2 minutes to the Beach and 5 to duomo catedral,

United KingdomAll good really. The shower area could maybe do with a look at from maintenance as it didn't drain that well.
Loved the location. Close to historic quarter and within walking distance from train station. My room was comfortable and exceptionally clean. It was large. The shower was great. I loved the area and the view from my balcony over a little square. It was quiet and beautiful. The breakfast was good. The girl on breakfast was lovely. The guys were fine too. I would definitely recommend. It was an apartment building and it felt a bit spooky at first cos you have to negotiate a few different doors to access but actually after this it feels very secure and quite safe and very peaceful.

FinlandSteep staircase up to the room. No mosquitonet, some bugs in the room. Non existent wifi.( caused me some trouble)
Location is on the edge of old town. Close to the bulevard where takes appr 25 mins nice walk to reach the railway station and port. ( or via the lively pedestrian street). My room was above their restaurant in the back side as l wished for a silent room. Room was simple with ensuite bathroom. Nothing fancy, but it worked for me for a one night stay. My only problem was the wifi, which did not work at all, although climbed down to the reception to ask for the password there was no any signal in the room to connect to.

New ZealandThere was a subtle smell in the bathroom (plumbing) but not unbearable also there was a loud live band at the restaurant below, don't forget you earplugs like me, it's best to join in and quite a good band actually, they finished up at midnight.
Large spacious room, even with 3 extra single beds! The location was good close to bus stop and buses to Amalfi Coast. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great bar/restaurant below which is part of the hotel.

HungaryThe bathroom was not so nice. The shower door didn't work properly, it fell off. The toilet makes a weird sound after flushing. It didn't feel so clean either. Gluteen free breakfast option was only one type of cake.
The staff was kind, the check in went smoothly. They were helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was cool, what is good on a hot summer day.
