How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Close to the citi center, very polite personnel and generally a great place to stay in Siena. There also a few free parking spots which helps a lot if you have a car.

The air con!!
Fantastic hotel due to professional staff! There’s no bar but we were offered glass of Prosecco before dinner, which was beautiful! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the following night! I would have rated this hotel even higher if the air con had worked properly! However staying at this hotel was a very relaxing and pleasant experience!

Paying the bill was confusing. But they did recheck and credited me appropriately.
The reception was very helpful - giving suggestions and directions. Breakfast was lovely. The room was clean and well stocked.

The STAIRS! Our room was on the 3rd floor and the hotel has no lift. Understandable, I guess, as it’s a beautiful heritage building, but vey tough after spending hours walking around the city to have to climb the stairs!
The hotel was perfectly placed for seeing the sights of the city. The room was bright and clean and the shower excellent. Maybe it would have been good to have a chair. There was a vast choice of delicious food at breakfast and the coffee was very good (in Italy of course, it would be!) Delightful to stay in this beautiful hotel with very helpful staff

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were so lovely and very helpful when we needed assistance. This hotel is in such a prime location, just a short walk to the Piazza del Campo, and there is somewhere to eat and drink every few steps. The breakfast was lovely, with many choices. Our room was small but very functional. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay.

Reception was very helpful in guiding us around Siena. Breakfast was very good- lots of variety and beautiful setting. Our rooms were clean and had adequate supplies. We were close together. All in all a good experience.

Air conditioning control was difficult and wall controller not user-friendly. I had to ask for assistance from the front desk twice for them to reset the a/c. Other than Barbara, some of the other gentlemen at the front desk were not particularly friendly or helpful and gave the vibe that we were an annoyance which is odd for a hospitality business. Breakfast ends at 10am and on one of the mornings, we came down about 9:45 and they had already turned off the Sterno heaters for the warm food and so the eggs and meat were actually cold. They do not allow you to eat food on their grounds (like on the outside back patio) unless you purchase it from them but there are gaps of time when their restaurant, the only option to get food on the property, are closed so such limitation is nonsense to treat guests like that.
Rooms were nice and clean and good-sized. Good location to Siena walking distance. Breakfast was included which was convenient. Cost of rooms were a good value. Barbara at the front desk was nice, friendly and very helpful in providing recommendations and even setting us up for a taxi from Siena to Rome, and we really appreciated her help.

Bar across the street led to a noisy Saturday night but every other night was fine.
The location was wonderful, as was the breakfast! The bathroom (with rain shower!) was so nice.

A little bit expensive but for 3 people close to the city center this should be expected.
The hotel is situated close to the main attractions. Very helpful staff that had excellent service and gave us private parking garage. Clean and spacy rooms for 3 people with a separate bedroom for one person.

The breakfast was not well executed and all the tables in the breakfast room were dirty.
