Best location in Naples, minutes from Stazione centrale. Super friendly and helpful receptionist. Nothing was too much. Went out of his way to help me out.

Honestly, this "hostel" is going to top my list of places from hell for long.Filthy,smelly, no AC, unsafe location, host speaks no Englist.I reckon Booking.com should not promote places like this.The single room has no equipment but a bed, with no AC the window faces the " utility" backyard, so horrible stench and noise from the other flats is guarateed. Please,avoid this place, a bench in the street is an alternative option, and for free.

We have found bedbugs in the room. we have complained to the owner & he changed our accommodation & allotted us a room in a different hostel which was 10 minutes walking distance from this hostel. The location of this hostel is worst. Don’t recommend this place to the girls traveling solo.

The WhatsApp number that I was supposed to call to someone let me in was not a number available on WhatsApp and nobody answered my inquiry about this issue. My flight got cancelled, so I didn't arrive to the location. But this communication was not professional.

Lockers: It has very small lockers (just personal items) like half of them cannot be locked cause they’re broken, so better bring a backpack and a lock. Two bathroms (male/female) for the whole hostel (1 male dorm 2 female dorms and 1 private), no hot water they don’t seem to be fixing that anytime soon, in mans bathroom sink was broken with a sign that said “broken” and tape all over it, super dirty with hairs from people that shaves, they don’t seem to be fixing it either. Bathrooms seemed dirty, not enough cleaning and sometimes not even toilet paper. They don’t have any soap or shampoo. Rooms: I stayed in a four bunk bed dorm, it only had one power outlet for 8 people, from what I heard the situation was similar in the other dorms, the only good thing were the beds that even if I sometimes felt like they were going to fall apart surprisely were comfortable. Two dorms share a balcony with views to the front street. Staff: Only one guys speaks english the rest just italian, I understand that i’m in a foreign country and I can understand a little Italian, but it might be a bit complicated for other people, in the end in hostels you welcome people from everywhere. Staff would be absent most of the time smoke in the balcony letting the smoke into the rooms. At night (10-12pm) staff would randomly go into the males dorm and the balcony talk out loudly and smoke not caring if guests are trying to sleep. I think the owner of the hostel sleeps/lives in the male dorm, there was an older guy who would constantly interact with the staff and even argue with them or that impression I had from their interactions. Overall: Bad wouldn’t stay there again, I was going to move but decided to stay cause I had payed in advance and was a short time.

To begin, all my love to Napoli and the people I met in this amazing place! Now read this review, cause I’m going to go on detail. The people I met, made the experience tolerable. I've stayed in several hostels around the world and never had such a negative experience before, so it’s very easy to say that is one of the worst places I have stayed, the conditions of the hostel, the staff and many factors contributed to this review. Location: Even though is not mainly a problem, there’s no proper sign that gives you a clue of where the hostel is. The neighborhood may not be the best, but is very close to the train station and great pizza places. Is in a 6th floor but has elevator. Facilities: Frontdesk is almost always empty so you have to contact them so they arrive and make the check in, the charge a tax that you can only pay in cash. It has a kitchen with microwave, tv and a sink (didn’t use it). Free wifi works well, if it suddenly stops working is cause router is disconnected from power (loose socket).

Dirty. Only 2 plug sockets for 6 people. Shower was broken. Only two toilets for like 20 people. It was loud outside. No aircon.

Simple and super clean rooms and bathrooms. Staff could be kinder and more welcoming and helpful. Location just the best. Incredible value considering anything else starts at over 80 euro. I stayed at star hotel by the station previous visit in Naples and paid £125 euro per night plus city tax. Will alway go back to Alexander hostel.

When arriving at the hostel we were told we would be taken to our room, which wasn’t even in the hostel, but instead a couple of blocks away in a different apartment building. The wifi didn’t work, there was no toilet paper, there was no kitchen or fridge ect as advertised as this was all at the other building and everything was dirty. We had to hang on our door to shut it as the frame had come off the wall and everytime we shut the door pieces of the wall would crumble on the floor. We rung the staff regarding this and he was very irritated that he would have to walk over and help and when he arrived he just said “oh well, just slam it til it shuts” and when we requested to change rooms the following day we received no response. Worst backpackers we have stayed at and wish we read more reviews before booking

Would’ve given this a 0 if I could. Couldn’t find the place, upon arrival staff were rude and unhelpful. The doors didn’t lock and there were no working lockers to keep our things safe. The shower sprayed up towards the ceiling as it’s broken, drenching the whole bathroom. There was only two bathrooms with no toilet roll for the whole hostel too. We didn’t manage to sleep. We booked 4 nights and left after 2 as it was unbearable, impossible to sleep as there were no blinds and walls were thin. We got eaten alive by mosquitoes as there are no nets either. I’ve never been to a hostel as awful as this. There’s absolutely no privacy and the cleaner leaves the door wide open to reception while you are getting dressed. Also have to pay to use a broken lift otherwise you have to walk up 6 floors. The location isn’t safe for women, us and multiple we spoke to have been followed outside of the hostel. Pay a bit extra and go elsewhere don’t listen to the ‘passable’ reviews.

Bathrooms were very dirty and no hot water in the evening; I couldn't get into the building and when I called the number, it said out of service. A stranger and another traveler helped me in; area felt unsafe, especially at night.

The bed was surprisingly very comfortable and appeared clean.

No WIFI. Also, the phone signal was poor in the room. Also, the neighbours look sketchy but it is very near to the central station. Also the board for the hostel is very small so it is quite difficult to navigate.

The price was super cheap for the couple room.

Flat about 500m from the reception (very dangerous neighbourhood) Room very shabby (wallpaper was peeling off the wall, blind to protect from the sun did not work). In the bathroom there was no toilet paper, the number of towels inadequate for the number of guests in the room. The room key matched every door in the hostel. Not recommended. What do they charge tourist tax for if the basic things mentioned above are not there? I demand a refund. I will definitely not return there again🤬

I didnt like that they didnt offer the key for the locker - usually the hostels offer one one for rent. The bathrooms need to have windows open almost all the time and the floor should be wiped after every use of the shower - people are dirty bitches and don’t clean after themselves.

I liked that it was literally in the centro storico so a lot of things were close. Also, a lot of people complained about the beds and it actually wasn’t that bad

The neighbourhood is messy and look unsafe. Have a lot of rubbish on the streets. The building is old and you have to paid if you wanna use the lift or walk to 8 floor. Owner and stuff is really mean, and zero helpful. You can’t close curtains to sleep well and the owner I think so, snoring to loud. Just one socket per room (with 6 or 8 beds). Kitchen don’t have anything good to use

The tidiness of the space- the shared bathroom was disgusting and there was no cleaning products to clean it. Everything so old and the internet didn’t work

The property was disgusting. We stayed in the private rooms which is located in a different location from main reception. The place was filthy. Up 4-5 flights of stairs with no life so be careful if you have mobility issues. The room itself wasn’t dirty just very run down cracks in the wall and indie broken, the bathroom was vile, I didn’t brush my teeth or short whilst we stayed there.
