Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryMiniscule things, like: 8th floor with elevator operated by 20 cents, but owner provided three pieces. Still, weird. Could not get hot enough water, but it was comfortable, we just would wanted to have hotter as we used to.
Location, cleanliness, owner was friendly and offered help via WhatsApp. Breakfast was possible in multiple places via a QR code. We have never heard about our neighbors, so the walls are thick enough.

IrelandThe building is a bit rundown on the outside so we were a bit anxious before we got into our accommodation.
It has to be the closest accommodation to the central station so was perfect for the purpose of our trip. We were taking an early train so it was ideal.

SpainThe street and the area is a bit intimidating. You have to pay 20 cents (0,20€) every time you take the elevator.
Was literally next to the train station. The street and the building is a bit intimidating but the room is very good.

United KingdomThe property had a big congregation of people outside the front door which was a bit intimidating (being 2 young girls travelling alone) which was also there till late. There was also a lot of noise from a fight which we could hear from our room, and a lot of noise from cars and trains which you could hear. The elevator felt uneasy and unsafe, where it fits around 2 people max (without large bags) so my friend had to get the lift on her own, or there’s 8 flights of stairs to climb.
The location is across the road from central station which was perfect. The apartment itself was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and offered a really nice big terrace/balcony. There’s also a nice view of Mr Vesuvius behind. Host was also friendly.

United KingdomWe arrived late at night, there was clearly a lot of homeless people and unsavoury characters hanging around outside the building which was a little unsettling, but this can almost be expected next to a central train station. Don't let it put you off too much. My advice is to call ahead a few minutes before your arrival and meet the host outside to avoid waiting/walking around in the area.
Location is perfect, right next to Napoli Centrale train station, 30 second walk from the building entrance. We initially could not find the entrance as the hotel is actually on the 8th floor of a communal building however with a quick phone call, the host came outside to meet us. The price is good for the area. Check-in staff super friendly. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size with a beautiful balcony/terrace to enjoy my morning coffee.

SingaporeThe only downside is one of the plus of the appartment which is the location. There is a few people downstairs staying in front of the entrance doors all evening. Nothing vad happened, just it right not be reassuring for a woman alone for example. Just something to take note of. The rest was all good !
The appsttment was clean and as per expected on the picture. The host is available and really responsive on whatsapp. We also had a nice surprise on the balcony that have an overlooking view of the train station from the last floor of the building. The location is prime since it's facing the train station.

GermanyThe elevator
This place is right next to the Napoli Central Train station. It is very convenient to travel from here. We had a room with balcony and the view was amazing. You can see the train station's roof, the mountains, and even a glimpse of the ocean. The noise can be reduced by closing the window shutters. Then it is peaceful. There was room service every day. The B&B is on the 8th floor served by an old elevator which operates only if you insert a 20cent coin. The room was very clean and the bathroom was good. The sit-out area in the balcony was amazing and our summer evenings were spent there. This is a huge building and there are many other office spaces in each floor. In the beginning, it was hard to believe that there is an accommodation so close to the station. It was right in front of the train station. There is a cafe right down the building for an early morning coffee or breakfast. We stayed with family and felt comfortable.

AustraliaLift was functional but there was one flight of stairs - which the host kindly carried for me. I had read in other reviews that there was lots of homeless people hanging around the bottom - as a mother travelling g with 2 teenage daughters. I did indeed feel a little intimidated by the people standing outside our accomodation when we arrived. But they had all disappeared at 7am in the morning so early morning start was very safe. We caught a taxi to have dinner in a different part of Naples.
Host was excellent and very attentive upon arrival. Location perfect for walking (2 mins) to the central Naples train station at 7 in the morning with my luggage in tow.

BulgariaCheck out time is very early 10:00am. This is written in the conditions of accommodation and it is good to be respected by the woman who cleans. As early as 9:00 am, she started knocking on the door and disturbing us. Then again at 9:20 and 9:40am. We left at 9:55am but this push left a bit of an unpleasant feeling.
Great location, a few minutes from the station. Friendly host and easy check-in. Very clean and comfortable beds. Each room has a kettle for water, tea and coffee, a fridge.
