Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt would be great to have a bottle of water in the room and even better to have a small fridge for access to drinks.
The location was very central and it was interesting to stay inside such an old building. Fabrizio was very informative about local events and provided a great breakfast. The views were amazing from the attic position.

United KingdomWe weren’t aware there were 90 steps to negotiate to get to Attica.. many may find that a challenge. For a high spec place there were things that would be improvements, like access to facilities to make a drink and somewhere to hang towels to dry. There was no water/ glasses left in the rooms and beware the jacuzzi is not heated.
It has been restored beautifully by the owner, it is spacious and very tastefully done. The views are wonderful and for the centre of town , very peaceful. Caltagirone was a delight and the owner was rightly passionate about his lovely town.

DenmarkNot a complaint, but you have to be prepared to climb stairs to get up to the B&B. Beware of difficult parking if you arrive by car. I advise you to take the first opportunity available within 150m before the B&B (It's all downhill from there) At the weekends, there can be a bit of musical noise from the backyard (not super loud). Uually ends by midnight.
Fantastic gem in Caltagirone. Beautiful rooms designed by the very friendly host Fabrizio. Having breakfast on the rooftop terrace is just such a perfect way to start a day.

United StatesAC did not work so it was quite warm at night. Shower drain needed cleaning. We did not contact the owner at the time because we got back from dinner quite late at night. He was apologetic when we told him the next morning. Access to the apt seemed sketchy at first (building seemed abandoned ) but was actually fine.
Beautifully done bedroom+bath in a very old building, within the owner’s apartment. He was gracious, friendly and very helpful with suggestions, and went out early in the a.m. to bring back delicious pastries, local jams, seasonal fruit and great coffee. He is very passionate about Catalgirone which was great.

AustraliaAs a shared facility, use of the (otherwise lovely) kitchen was discouraged. We may have snuck a home-cooked meal and scoured away all evidence.
Aside from its excellent location, Attico Taranto offers a modern, comfortable refuge within one of Caltagirone’s older residential buildings. Fabrizio was a supremely generous, insightful host. His tireless pursuit of gluten free croissants (his breakfasts were delicious) was greatly appreciated; as was his deep, personal knowledge of local ceramics and design.

SwitzerlandThe house is absolutely stunning. It is renovated and decorated with lots of love for detail and tradition. Fabrizio is an amazing host who explained us all about Caltagirone and the Sicilian traditions. He made our stay very special by giving us recommendations about ceramic shops, restaurants and bars and by preparing us an excellent breakfast. Overall, we can highly recommend the b&b and the host!

AustraliaNothing to dislike - just be aware there are 3 flights of stairs to your room (be prepared to carry your bags up yourself) , and my advice if driving is to take the first street park you find once you are on the accommodation street...it's unlikely you will find a spare spot right outside, though possible if you are lucky and good at tight parking.
The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed, with thoughtful nods to the local history. This style extended into the dining and sitting areas, and the view from the terrace (complete its own jjacuzzi) is worth the stair climb. I met the lovely owner as I checked out, and he kindly gave me more local information over an espresso and impromptu breakfast - grazie mille 🙏💗👌 The location in the heart of Catalgirone right next to the tiled staircase is hard to beat.

SwitzerlandNothing.
This is an incredible place not to miss. Fabrizio, as an architect, has done an amazing work renovating and refurbishing the last floor of the Palazzo. Rooms are beautiful and spacious as well as the common areas, mixing traditional craft with contemporary art. If you rent the two bedrooms, you will be alone to enjoy also the great jacuzzi on the terrace (and the whole apartment which is huge). The view over the city and the nearby duomo is also amazing. Fabrizio speaks mostly Italian and if you do you will get the most of the experience as he knows a lot about the history and the contemporary situation of Caltagirone and, more broadly, cultural expertises throughout Sicily.
