Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaHow many stairs there were to first, get to the entry door and second, to our hotel room door. It was too much for our age and physical ability. I would recommend staying here if you have a carry on suitcase and are in decent shape. For sure, I would suggest asking for one of the lower level rooms.
We missed out on the breakfast because weren't informed about where to get the it with the check-in information. They said they would include that info then from now on.

United StatesPreface: 800yo building remodeled, I understand European boutique hotels. Since it's a popular street (although no cars) it was VERY noisy and bothersome at night if you are a light sleeper. Restaurants and constant people right outside (we had thin window facing street/steps) so noisy till 1am. Not hotel fault, I just didn't realize this. For the cost, really poor amenities: showerhead faulty, used wand. Funny colored strobe light over shower(?), no space for toiletries, not one hook for towel, small closet, no drawers, smallest bedside tables, there was just no space to put our things and lived out of the suitcase. Place was clean but since tiles floors, hard to keep dust away.
Located on a nice area, away from all the big buildings, traffic. Supposedly on the "pretties street in Rome" and that's probably true! Staff very helpful and quick communication.

AustriaThe room was very used. There are a lot of stairs and the doors open with a long code instead of keys. There no reception only a whatsapp messaging service. I was not given the room that i booked but a much less nicer room. Although i doubt now the nicer room with a balcony would have been as described.

AustraliaEVERYTHING WAS A LIE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING IS DIRTY, AND IT WAS NOT WORTH 1 EURO.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I attached 6 photos of the SUPPOSED ROOM I BOOKED AND RECEIVED CONFIRMATION ABOUT.!!!!! BUT THE ROOM I CHECKED IN WAS A TOTALY DIFFERENT ONE.!!! Also, and very important, to everyone please careful with the cheating, it is not a hotel, it is BNB, and i do blame booking.com for this, also I am investigating the involvement of booking.com in situations like this, on the expense of customers
That room was not what I paid for.!!! It's 2 meters by 2 meters, totally different than what they advertised on booking.com... It is dirty, walls are very dirty, and there was no balcony as the images show on booking.com page.!! It is a deceiving, and strictly confident I say it's cheating, and therefore, I did book in another hotel, simply because I couldn't stay there with a friend of mine.!! This was theeeeee worst experience i could go through.!! I DO WANT MY MONEY BACK, OR I AM GOING TO TELL ALL THE WORLD ABOUT THIS, I DID MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THAT HORRIBLE ROOM, AND I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PUBLISH IT ALL OVER THE WORLD, I DO ASK BOOKING.COM, TO TAKE AN ACTION, AND INVESTIGATE THIS LIES, AND DECEIPTION BY """"LUXURY NAVONA""" Another lies about that horrible property is the BREAKFAST, that I paid an extra money for: When you go to the ART BAR, to ask about the breakfast, you are face by theee rudest people in the world, and the breakfast is no more than ONE CROISSANT, AND COFFEE...

United StatesThe room was small, and had almost zero natural light. It felt so dark in there without any lights flouring the day. There were two bugs inside when we checked in. The bathroom door frame was so short that my husband kept hitting his head on it. I expected a much nicer stay for the money. The bed was also very stiff.
It was in a great area

United KingdomWe had the Borromini room which is immediately in the reception area and unfortunately due to the original style building it was SUPER noisy with people coming in and out late. Equally could hear everything in the room upstairs and also when people went to breakfast early in the morning it was in the reception area. Not great for a “relaxing” time. Breakfast was nice with pastries, yoghurt, toast but could do with having some fresh items. Would be nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the common area for when returning from a long day.
Great location close to local sights etc. Really lovely building with original features etc that was typically Italian.

United StatesThis was the worst lodging we have ever stayed at, it started with that there was no one there to unlock the door, and no way to reach them. Some passerby‘s were kind enough to help us and to get their phone number. We finally did enter the room, and it was the most awful thing we have ever seen, my wife and I are both airline pilots and travel all over the world. This is the worst I have ever seen. I would never recommend this place, and I emphatically would never go to this place. !!
There was no breakfast

United StatesThe room at a cost of approximately $350 per night was definitely not what I excepted, a small upstairs attic room with no bed end tables or view. At that cost I expected a larger room. Also, the included breakfast was basically coffee, fruit, yogurt, and cereal.
Good location near a great restaurant and exceptional staff. Very impressed with Bob. He went out of his way to insure our well-being and travel assistance. Very clean.

IsraelThe room was way too small. We got one of the best ones I think but it was just so cramped. You only had space to move around the bed. And it was kind of a basement so there was no light usually and felt damp. Overall, expensive for the room we had.
The location was rly great and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We loved that it was easy to get anywhere from there. We also liked the breakfast, even though options were quite limited.

GermanyI had a super tiny room with a super tiny window. You needed light even during day time cause it was so dark. The doors were super thin, during breakfast it was super noisy and impossible to sleep. The shower water took ages to become warm, and the room was a bit dusty at some places and I wouldn't say it was very clean. The main disappointing issue for me was the tiny room, especially since it wasn't that cheap.
The location was close to Piazza Navona, right in the center of Rome, it can't get much better than that!
