Perhaps the only negative for me was the lack of shelves in the shower to put shampoo there.

Since a friend made the reservation for me, I was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was available! (I only found out about this during check-in). Breakfast was always the same, but fresh and tasty. The stunning garden is also a huge plus. The showers are modern and always clean, the beds are comfortable. Friendly staff. Special thanks to admin Veronica. She not only helped me with all the questions that arose, but also told me a lot about Rome and advised me on what places to visit. <3

The sign of the hostel is not visible . I only saw at first the hospital and I thought the hotel was still far but Google Maps says I already arrived.

The rooms could have been more decorated or had furniture. Like, a small desk near the outlet with a small lamp so you didnt have to wake EVERYONE up when you had to get dressed by turning on the room light. The elevator doesnt work so you must carry your luggage up the stairs. And the stairs are VERY dusty and need to be swept.The breakfast was pastries. If you dont like sweet pastries, I wouldn't choose that option. I recommend going out into town and finding something else.

The bathroom was very modern and cute but there were no locks on the toilet doors so I had a couple of people walk in on me. Otherwise the bathroom was clean and reasonable.

The showers should have something so you can put your soap and shampoo in instead of the floor.

Good location, close to public transport but you can walk anywhere, the Colosseum, the Vatican, Circo Massimo. Nice crowd and staff.

I really don’t have a bad word to say about my stay! There was an incident of someone coming back to the shared room at 1 in the morning, switching lights on and rustling through their stuff quite loudly for an hour. The hostel and staff are not accountable for this incident though and it is something that should be prepared for if you are to stay in a shared accommodation with strangers!

My stay at the Borgo Ripa hostel exceeded all of my expectations. Staff were incredibly friendly and would go above and beyond to make my time in Rome as great as possible. They offered advice on how to keep safe and what to look out for, the best ways to navigate myself to certain areas and offering recommendations on great hidden spots to visit. They started to feel more like friends than staff towards the end of my trip! The hostel itself is very clean, boasting great views from the bedrooms and a shared bathroom that looks newly refurbished. The bathrooms are cleaned every day, so any horror stories I had in my mind of what using a shared bathroom would be like were completely obliterated once there. I’m planning to come back and visit Rome again I’m the new year, and I will definitely be staying here again! Such great value for money, for the services and accommodations that are provided!

This is a very nice hostel, housed in a beautiful old building. Rooms and beds are comfortable and the washrooms are modern. The lobby area is spacious and the very welcoming and helpful staff make it a pleasant area to relax. Highly recommended.

It was a bit hard to spot from the street as it is set back from the road and accessed through a courtyard. That means that we walked past it the first time

The location was great and our room had a view of the river. Although the room was sparsely furnished it had what was needed and the bathroom was good. Sitting on the terrace in the evening overlooking the courtyard and listening to the live music from the restaurant below was an unexpected treat.

The bathroom situation was the strangest I have seen in a hostel. Not all of the toilets locked. The shower stalls had glass on the top and bottom (so you can see people's head and legs when they are showering). There is no dry place to put a towel in the stall so you need to get out of the shower into the main bathroom area (also not lockable) without a towel where there may be other people doing things like brushing their teeth. Provided no privacy at all and made me uncomfortable.

Super cool location. Great to be in a trendy area of the city!

Can’t believe the toilet and shower is mixed gender but there is so little space inside the shower to change and the door is glass…. Only partially frosted glass… Am I supposed to step out naked?? There are no hooks inside the shower for clothes either… the entire situation is so uncomfortable and the level of privacy is far to low for it to be a mixed gender toilet…. Fortunately no one else was in the bathroom when I showered but I can imagine being very very creeped out showering there with men in the room that can literally see me when I shower…very very uncomfortable setup. Unacceptable… The toilets also don’t have locks!?? I don’t know how that’s possible….

The location is very close to all the landmarks. Staff is friendly and the breakfast is well worth the money although everything is sweet.

This Hostel has very recently been updated with showers, restrooms, and meeting/gathering and refreshment counter.The 24 hour check in was fantastic, especially because of train delays. I was able to check in at midnight. The morning's had coffee & crossiants to start the day. The 1 mile walk was pleasant as you walked along the river to the Vatican and the other sites. Being next to the river made finding the Hostel very easy, returning from the days excursions

Some friend did my checking at the same time for her and me and when i arrived during the night the recptionist told me that there was a mistake and trastevere because my checking was in a male room and for that i just lost my money. But after that the girl told me ok im going to do you a favor because isnt my responsability even when we received your money you lost because we cant mix men and women and she told me that i can stay for one night there but the following day i have to move to another trastevere and im going to be in a women bedroom but that day i moved the another hostel and for my surprised i was sharing the room with three men so at the end i didnt get it because told me something and at the end i just have to move and shared the bedroom with three guys. The girl in the second hostal she was so kind and tried to attended me well with respect but the fisrt just talk to me in a bad way practically yelling me, and also when i took the shower i didnt have warm water, the shower was dirty so i cant recomended this place.

the only thing I didn't like was that the elevator was broken so you had to take your luggage up the stairs, but maybe was just wrong timing

the hostel was a beautiful old building but with beautiful renovated bathrooms and rooms while maintaining some original details. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The location is great, next to a river and at walking distance from the main attractions of Rome

The hostel is clean and calm. Not so loud around the area which makes it perfect for sleeping and the staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. It is located in a good position of Rome. I would come back again when I have time to visit the city. An additional point which is the lockers makes it safer in case you are unsure of leaving your items in the luggage.
