South Africa1. Not value for money. A 5 star hotel should at least have access to a private beach. We were not even advised whether there is a pool, which I doubt exists. 2. The shower had no shelf for shampoo/conditioner/body wash. 3. Complimentary water was placed in the room only once. 4. Breakfast was bland at best. 5. The kettle could not be removed to fill up with water from the tap. 6. The booking venue would not consider cancelling a night, knowing that if we had to leave, they would get the full amount quoted, and they would then let out the room to another customer and still make money. This is not showing any good faith to customers. 7. The toiletries were substandard at best. 8. Compared to a neighbouring 4 star hotel (which had all the facilities, toiletries and amazing customer service, Carrick's pricing is ludicrous for what is provided to customers.

FinlandThe staff at the breakfast was unpleasant. They didn't seem to have time to take our orders and forgot to bring our coffee and other items on several mornings. The scrambled eggs were terrible. I didn't feel welcome there at all. We stayed in a round suite and it was like a very nice concrete bunker on the first floor. The view was to the stairs back in the building and to some staff facilities. The room didn't have any natural light and we had to keep the curtains closed due to no privacy. I would expect more from a 5 star hotel's suite! The sea view was accessible only from the rooftop.
The location was very nice! Camogli walking streets, restaurants and the beach very at a walking distance. Also the train station was nearby. The hotel was very clean and cool during a heatwave which we enjoyed a lot during our stay.

HungaryThe staff working during breakfast was not so professional. The breakfast is too expensive for what is given. The products are higher quality but there is no so much choice and the coffee is really bad. We also thought that there is a private beach for guests but actually that is not the case. They just have some opportunities to provide a place with umbrella that you need to pay extra on the main beach.
We liked the location of the hotel and the room was nice and clean. The staff on the reception was good and I liked the fact that when we arrived the check in was fast professional and welcoming. I think the person name was Alfredo.

SwitzerlandNOT a 5-star in terms of service level, comfort, and amenities. Service was curt and not helpful. The “extra bed” was a tiny twin in the room, and the staff did not conduct turn down service in the evening, and in fact said “I’m unable to do it.” I had to ask multiple times for the extra sheets, then the pillows which they forgot - more like a 2-3 star service hotel.
Great location near Camogli beach. Really nice rooftop bar and trendy aesthetic.

Everything from the main entrance lounge/work out area to the beautiful rooftop bar/hot tub/sundeck and shaded area. Breakfasts are excellent, service outstanding, comfort and cleanliness perfect. Complimentary Prosecco upon arrival as well as complimentary hour in the spa is very classy. Location is great, short walk from train and town centre.

United Kingdom1. This is simply not a 5 star hotel. 2. Girl on reception lied about discounting one night - which was not the case. I was never expecting discount, infact paid full price 3. they didn’t bother to read my request on booking.com 4. breakfast was a complete disaster 5. staff serving breakfast were unprofessional and not trained 6. parking charges are 50 euros per night. no valet parking. 7. we checkout early and didn’t stay for breakfast next morning. PS- it is fair to say many other who were staying had similar experience. I won’t return here, if some gives me a free stay.
