Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThat the bathroom was outside the room and the reception desk was right there. The shower didn’t have a door so the water will come all the way out. Toilet looks rusted and old, the commode would move. The room needed more tables to put our things on.
That it was right in front of the Roma Termini

PolandThe photos on booking don’t match the actual look of the apartment, some of the photos were accurate but some of them were taken somewhere else. The worst part was disgusting kitchen and bathroom which were totally uncleaned. We actually got the experience of roman empire because the dirt and mold were ancient there. The other thing was that the staff (although very friendly) was randomly coming into the apartment and ate food or prayed there in the living room. It was kind of weird.
The staff was very friendly, we love the fact that we were in the city centre, the beds were clean

AustraliaRoom was small and walls were paper thin. Our room was right off the reception desk we could hear EVERYTHING even late at night. We didn’t feel safe in the area. Bathroom was small and shower had lots of mild. We were only given two small towels, no hand towels.
The air conditioner worked really well. Staff were friendly and nice.

AustraliaThe kitchen was so dirty it was unusable, the fridge was barely chilled, and the shower water was ice cold with poor pressure.
The personal room was clean and we had fresh sheets and towels. The check in staff was very nice. Nice location right next to Roma termini and 20 min walk to tourist attractions.

AustraliaVisitors - not just us - arrive at 31 Via Cattaneo, and figure out to hit the buzzer for Roma Palace if you’re staying st Cattaneo Accommodation. If the man is out at one of the other places where they have accommodation, which he has to go to quite often, there is no answer when you buzz, because he isn’t in, so you ring his phone number, which should answer at your first or second try. He’s usually back at 31 Via Cattaneo in about 5 minutes. He’s fine and looks after you OK, after the unpromising start. This was the third place on this European trip which we booked on booking.com and the ONLY way to gain access to the accommodation despite telling booking, com your arrival time, was to ring the person then wait for them to arrive. I guess this is booking.com 2022-style. If booking.com knew how to run a business well, booking.com would tell you that - you have to ring him - at some stage in the booking process. Otherwise, the place was ok, given the very low price. My guess is they changed the name from Roma Palace to Cattaneo Accommodation because Roma Palace has much lower ratings online than the new name has. Oops - I forgot. They obviously have quite a few rooms at different places, but our bed had only the bottom sheet - no top sheet at all - though the nice man did get a clean sheet for us. And there was only one towel for the two of us - no problem. We had to turn the shower tap as far to the left as possible to try to get hot water - I’d call the water lukewarm and my spouse uses the word “tepid” to describe the water temperature. Overall - not perfect, but cheap.
The room was ok, given the low price. It didn’t feel very clean.

SpainThere is a girl, a receptionist, called Nafisa. WATCH OUT FROM HER. She will do whatever to take money from you. She wanted to trick me with the prices so that she can take extra money for herself, but thank God I was aware of it. Also when I made the check out, I wanted to leave my luggage only for 2 hours as they had the possibility to do it, one of the workers there told me it was ok and I could leave them for free, but she wanted to charge me 10€ for 2 hours!!!!!! So watch out, she is a money sucker!!
