Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandVery small room, difficult to move inside and place the luggage (we had the room without sea view), very loud air conditioning - no reaction for remote control. Switching off possible only by security breakers; breakfast served very slow; scrambled eggs oversalted; only 3 tables in shadow on terrace, all others in full sunshine:-( We do not recomend
Amazing view from roof terrace and localisation in the old city centre

TurkeyWe had only a hanger in the bedroom. A wardrobe needs to be added to the room.
We stayed in a suite with a balcony, and we had an amazing sea view above the cliffs. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and spacious. A delicious breakfast is served on the terrace. If I come back to Pollignano then we will stay in this hotel again.

United KingdomMosquitos were the only thing. Although it was only the one but he was adamant on doing damage but everything else was great
The view was amazing! The staff especially giuliana who served us breakfast in the terrace every morning. She was so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.. I had an allergic reaction to mosquito bites and she got me antihistamine tablets and enquired how I was every morning after that. Her English was great and she's so pleasant. The peace and quiet with just the sound of the ocean was bliss.. The little alleys we walked through were so cute and different. Butterflies, Christmas trees, different cactus plants were some of the surprises we saw when you turned a corner with the romantic poetry on the steps. It's the most beautiful holiday we've ever been on. The walks and the ocean............. Bliss........ The church bells and the pizzas and gelato..... We took a boat trip one day. It was awesome. My partner jumped in and swam in the ocean... And we had champagne on the boat. A very romantic place to be.. Very good for couples.... The best holiday ever! And I've a new friend for life!

We stayed in the smaller cave room on ground level. It’s all we needed for an overnight stay especially with full access to the terrace which was superb. The staff accommodated our need for a slightly earlier check in to fit with a lunch booking. Very much appreciated.

United KingdomThe room was incredibly simply decorated and furnished. By simple I mean it was too bare and the furniture was very very basic. Our air conditioning unit was broken and kept dripping water every 1 second which woke me up. We had to turn it off and the we couldn't sleep because we were very hot. The reception guys were adamant there was nothing wrong with it other than 'condensation'. To be fair they did eventually get an engineer in who fixed it (so there clearly had been a problem). Other than that it's a nice place, and had the room rate been cheaper then I wouldn't have minded so much. But at £440 per night (when we stayed at a 5* hotel in Lecce for £240 per night) the value for money was very poor.
The location was very good, the size of the room was good, the terrace and breakfast service was very good.

ItalyLuxury ans design suite with an incredible sight on the sea. The same sight we could enjoy from the terrace, where we had a welcome drink and a high-quality breakfast. Lovely position in the center of Polignano with a super convenient transfer from the parking. Very nice staff, eager to support and suggest local experiences. Top.

IrelandThe parking is not at the hotel; in fact it’s about a 15-20 min walk from the hotel. They did send a golf cart to collect us and transfer luggage. However, on the day of departure, they made us remove our car at 11am from the car park and said they needed it for other guests. However, the car park was absolutely empty and lots of spaces were available so this made absolutely no sense. This meant that we had to leave the town immediately which was very disappointing when we wanted to spend the day there. The fact we had to take our car out at 11am was never indicated until check out. The bed was quite uncomfortable and the room is quite small for the price. The hotel is very expensive for what you receive.
The hotel is in a good location in the town - close to restaurants and the beach. The rooftop is lovely and the breakfast was very good. The room was modern and clean with nice, fresh decor.

United KingdomThe first room was literally a cave , tiny , with no windows , straight out to the street alley , it would have made a good wine cellar , the pictures on booking.com we think were taken with a wide lense camera. We asked to be moved which happened but we had to pay 100 e extra on top of the £150 already paid as the management disagreed with our comments about the room. We then moved room which was outstanding however , the morning after we were woken at 7am by terrible noise from above we realised it was staff moving chairs and the coffee machine on the breakfast terrace on the floor above us .
When we got to the second room as we had requested an upgrade which we had to pay extra for from the first awful ‘cave’ standard double room . The second room had magnificent views of the sea and was perfect until the morning after ….

United KingdomBreakfast was very limited ! Two out of the three day stay no orange juice , lack of breakfast options. No self serve , so lack of coffee etc. We paid for a sea view room but when we turned up to see the sea you had to lean over the balcony to the right to see the sea. We upgraded our room for a additional 200 euro just to see the sea.
