the room was quite big and the walk-in closet was an enormous plus! whenever we travel with our baby, they always forget to put the crib in the room, but Starhotels did not and the whole experience was great. very comfortable, superb location right across the train station. staff very helpful! if we ever go back to Bologna, we'd definitely stay here again🥳

Breakfast gets extremely busy, and the last day I was there I couldn't find a table at all (and I didn't have time to wait). No one to greet you as you arrive. Coffee/tea also served by waiting staff, who are very rushed. Basically, need more staff, and providing coffee machines would speed this up. Orange juice also not fresh, which is surprising in Italy. However, you can have breakfast in your room, which I would recommend as a more peaceful experience for those, like me, who need a less raucous start to the day! As in other places in Italy the a/c doesn't work well and the room got hot. Not too much of a problem as I was at the back so could open windows without too much noise. Also, although the minibar is well stocked, and crisps (chips for you Americans) and biscuits (cookies) provided, it's not clear what is complementary, and what is not, and there is no price list for minibar - this could be easily fixed with a little sign

Very warm and personal welcome on arrival, and the room was a very good size. Bed extremely comfortable and room well equipped with everything you would expect - nice minibar, TV, pillow menu should you wish, room service, etc. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Decent selection at breakfast. Location is okay - very close to railway station which is convenient. A little bit of a walk to centre of Bologna, but manageable. Incidentally, if you want to get some food to take home - pasta, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cheese, etc. I discovered a small and unassuming shop in Via dei Mille (5 mins away), run by a lovely lady who has excellent produce - worth a look! It's just up from the Sable Gelato place (also worth a look)

Nothing much, really. If I have to mention something, it was a bit difficult to keep the bathroom floor dry when taking a shower. On one of the mornings, the breakfast buffet ran a bit low on some of the items.

Pretty much everything. We stayed for 6 nights and had a great experience. All staff we encountered (reception desk, breakfast, cleaners) were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location, right opposite the train station, suited our needs perfectly. Most of our favourite restaurants and tourist attractions were within easy walking distance (just a bit more than 1 km to Piazza Maggiore). If we come back to Bologna, we'll certainly check Starhotels Excelsior again.

Strangely, ac on or off Floor 6 (the room included) was tropical temperature-wise, though outdoors it was anything between 10-18C. Yet, in the room keeping the window open helped.

Excellently located, close to the train station for local travel (Ravenna, Modena, Venice), but also close to the Old Town. Great breakfasts that keep one well satiated until lunch.

The hotel does not really have a parking as described. There is parking service if you want to leave your key and have your car moved from someone else. In this parking space is really tight and there are no specific parking slots, thus someone from the parking will have to move your car back and forth to unpark other cars. There are many other parkings including other hotels' parkings where you can park in a dedicated spot, keep your key and they are also guarded.

Very nice hotel near train station in Bologna. Exceptional staff, nice rooms, comfortable beds. Andrea at the front desk was so friendly and provided us with a later checkout since our train was a couple hours after. We appreciated that kindness very much.

The location was handy for us - opposite the station. The room was luxurious. The beds were great, the bathroom and tea/coffee make facilities were fantastic, the walk-in wardrobe was really useful. The staff were incredibly welcoming, personal, happy and helpful. The breakfast was phenomenal and varied.
