Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe hostess was terrific 👍. The breakfast was excellent, juice, fruit, yogurt, meat, cheese, and more! Kitchen was separate from the rooms. Quiet guests. Patio sitting area. Short walk from the bus stop and 15 minute walk to Ortigia.

PolandThe only thing we didn't enjoy was the hydromassage. The bathtub was great but when we tried the hydromassage option, there was like a dust/dirt that appeared from the pipes and it got smelly. So we didn't really had the opportunity to enjoy :(
The owner was very friendly and helpful. She let us have breakfast a bit earlier and we could leave our luggage on our last day. The place is located close to Parco Archeologico and catacombs. The room was very spacious and comfortable. A place to enjoy!

United Kingdomthere was some noise all the time, in the background - this is for the owner to see as it can be disturbing at night. and as it is not from the fridge. somewhere in the system.. the shower system, was not great, they should change this as it was always coming off the hook.
love this place, as it is close to my favorite place - Santa Lucia de Sepolcro, 5-7 minutes walk. and close to the Deco supermarket.

United Kingdomthe shower was of poor quality, i think the owner needs to change it to a better quality as it kept pulling off its connection and not sturdy.
i like the location for two churches i was wishing to see and go daily. this is excellent for me. there is a small fruit store - which i liked as it has fruits, dried tomatoes was lovely. Deco a supermarket was handy, 3 minutes walk. great location.

HungaryThe room is extremely small. The fridge (which isn't big enough to put a big bottle of water in) is situated next to the bed (serves as a bedside table) and it was so loud we had to switch it off. I think this room is not for people who'd like to stay for more than a night.
The apartment is located in a residential part of Siracusa. It is easy to find a parking place in the street. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was served in a separate room, in an all-you-can-eat way. It was a nice surprise.

SwitzerlandThe add is overstating the property by quite a lot. The place is nice but there is no monument view and the facilities present limited levels of luxury. If the place was in accordance with the add, I would have given a better score.
Very central with a nice garden welcoming staff and a pretty comfortable room.

United KingdomI don't like memory foam mattresses and find them hot and sweaty. No restaurants nearby but that didn't bother me too much.
Perfect for me, with space in the courtyard for my bike. Helpful owner let me store my luggage whilst I visited the sights. Handy for the archaeology museum. Good shower and spacious room with fridge. Excellent value.

GermanyUnfortunately the hosts do not speak English, so you have to use Google translate. The bathroom is really tiny: The bathroom door is a foldable for just like on a plane. If you sit on the toilet you can brush your teeth above the sink. The sink is just a little smaller than a sink on the plane (we made a picture to show it in comparison to a credit card size), if you Ty to wash your face, you flood the bathroom.. However, you can see it from the pictures, so we knew what we were getting into. The apartment is located on a lower level, not Souterrain but almost. It is rather dark and has just one tiny window, maybe 20x25 cm. The breakfast was a little bit weird: cheese, grapes and crackers, one small croissant for each guest (the sort you buy frozen and then heat up in the oven), yogurt and cream toast. All products except the grapes and the yogurt are the sort of products you can store for weeks. Maybe the reason was that we were there at the end of the season and not many guests booked this B&B during the winter. Every guest gets two coffee from coffee pads, anything more you have to pay for. If you use the coffee pads in your room , you also have to pay.
We had the apartment, which is totally fine for 2 people, but in my opinion too small for 3 - if you fold out the additional bed, you will have no room to mover. We had super fluffy towels. Finding a parking spot was no problem at all. The area is quiet at night, only in the early morning we could hear the cars and in particular the motorcycles driving with a lot of noise up and down the street. Check in is possible until 20:00, if you arrive after 20:00 it costs 8€, if you arrive after 24:00 it costs 15€ extra. You can easily walk to the bridge connecting the old town located on the island within 18 minutes.
