The room can get a bit stuffy from the bathroom but that’s understandable as the hotel is an old building that has been refurbished with limitations. The breakfast could do with some vegetarian/ vegan choices.

Great location. Good facilities. Excellent staff that are always happy to help with anything! The hotel restaurant has amazing pasta dishes - worth the visit but book to skip the very long ques!

Honestly for me nothing.

I was really pleased with the location of the hotel, walking distance from the train station Santa Maria Novella. I am a senior person solo traveler. The hotel is in the second floor but it has elevator, I did not use it though because I am afraid of elevators, but the steps of the stairs are low and wide, what make safe to use the stairs, even for people of my age. The receptionist Elimedina was absolutely nice, and helpful all the time. The breakfast was a good breakfast and Sherry the lady in charge of serving the breakfast for the guests was also very nice. I recommend this place very much. Great location, wonderful staff and best price.

only downside to my room in particular was the fact it was so close to the reception and kitchen. I was woken up by the noise of everyone eating breakfast. the suite is considered “matrimonial” but the bed was two twins pushed together so you could feel the line in the middle. it’s hard to cuddle your spouse when the middle of the bed is a hard line. but really

The staff and the location make this a great little hotel. My room was clean and comfortable and Elmedjna was so kind and helpful when I checked in and out. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but good and abundant. We also got a very nice room with frescos on the ceiling. The location is extremely convenient, close to the train station and close to the center. We enjoyed our stay and we would go back.

From the service to creating a perfect understanding and full-filling customers. we had a wonderful stay indeed! they provide memorable experience , A Genuinely Cheerful, Helpful, Knowledgeable staffs, the best! location perfect, nearby the train station and all of Florence main attractions. their breakfast are so delicious , served hot like a freshly baked breads with some selections . the hotel rooms are very clean and smells so fresh, everyday. Distinctive, Well-Appointed Guest Rooms That Are Exactly What You've Asked for. the only downside was the slow elevator. which is not a problem at all.

Only thing not to like is that we are not still there.

After staying in Florence several times, the search for ''the one'' we would return to has ended with Hotel la Scala. The location is a short walk from the train station in a pleasant area with good options of restaurants. The breakfast is pre ordered with a time to assist the servers, who were brilliant. Then a wonderful array of options are served on a long table shared with other guests. There is no pressure to converse with others, though it was a very friendly atmosphere. The lady in reception was fantastic, full of life and enthusiastic. You know when you find '' the one''. We have found ours.

It was cold in the room at first, but the staff quickly helped us to solve this problem. There is no table in the room, but you can always go to work in the kitchen.

The location is excellent, very close to the train station and close to all tourist sites. The staff is very responsive and helpful. For breakfast you will get everything you ordered. You could always ask for coffee, and fruits and snacks were also available all day round. The room is very spacious and comfortable. We had both a bath and a shower. Internet quality is excellent.

Location was excellent. It’s on the second floor of a building so it’s really a bunch of rooms on a floor. No bar or sitting area but we weren’t there to spend time in a hotel. We are avid sightseers we spend all day out on the road and we only return to the hotel to shower and sleep.

There was really nothing I did not like since there were no hidden surprises.

The 10 minute walk from the train station was great; no need for a taxi and it was walking distance to most sites we wanted to explore. We felt very comfortable. The staff made you feel very welcomed. The room was large enough for 3 adults; we did not feel confined or crowded. The shower water pressure was excellent.

The room was basic, but for the price and location it is ideal.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, perfect English and made jokes. The kitchen staff were exceptional, really polite, made some delicious breakfast.
