Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThe location was great. It was about 4min walking from the Tram Station Unitá, and above a really nice bar that served some delightful aperitivo. The staff was always really nice, and they kept my bags in the last day after my check-out. I stayed in a room with personal bathroom, and it was all very clean and functional. The room was spatious and comfortable, and the noise cancelling was almost 100%. It certainly kept away most of the noise from the busy street. Another nice touch: it was rather cold for most of the weekend, so the heating was turned on in the bathroom, so I never was cold while taking a shower. Overall, I think it was really worth it, and a great value-quality choice.

United KingdomNothing, it was great
Lovely staff, feels far warmer and full of character than normal hotels. The room was very pretty and the location was nice too. The staff all spoke good English too which is always relieving for those who don’t speak the local language.

United KingdomThe furniture was a little bit old and worn, and also the sink and taps in the bedroom too. But for the price and location, you can't really complain. There was a bit of noise from the bars and restaurants downstairs but that's part and parcel of the atmosphere of these small Italian streets.
The location was great, the staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable, the room temperature was fine. It was a cosy place.

Poland- The hairdryer is awful, I had to spend around an hour to more or less make my hair dry. - Ventilation in bathroom switched on automatically after turning on the light and was working and making noise for some time after switching it off. It will not let you sleep if you will use it in the night time. But I used light near the mirror so could avoid that noise. - I didn't have problem with noise from the streets in the evening but in the morning it was not possible to sleep. But it's not a fault of the hotel - they made everything they could. Windows are very good. It's because of the central location. - There is a common toilet or bathroom on the floor, so you will hear how people visit it. - It would be nice to have 2 big towels - for body and hair, I had one big and one very small and thin.
- central location close to all main attractions - facilities are quite old but everything is very clean - I got a better room than I booked - large and with great view - Good internet connection - shampoo and soap are provided

United KingdomDue to the location , it was very noisy if the windows remain open. They had triple glass, so complete silent if all was closed. But if anyone has mild claustrophobia, it can be a problem. It was resolved with a fan, supplied by the hotel staff.
Hotel was very central and close to train station. There were several pubs and restaurants around. This review is for a 2* hotel. So bearing in mind this, the room was good. Not luxurious, basic, but the mattresses were excellent and the room was a good size.

NetherlandsThe room is directly on a busy tourist street. However when the windows are closed you don't hear any noise(very good isolated windows). Location to the central station, Duomo and Galleria Academia is in walking distance from the hotel. The lady at the reception was very very very friendly and explained everything nicely. She is a sweetheart. The shared bathroom was always clean and tidy. You are allowed to leave your baggage free of charge at the hotel after check-out untill 17:00.

Central location - very close (walking distance) to the main attractions in florence. Very friendly staff, spacious rooms and excellent location with a lot of food and drinks available nearby. The rooms were exteremely tidy and overall it was a comfortable stay. Luggage storage option was available which helped us immensely to travel around Florence without the worry of our bags. I will recommend this to my friends.

AustraliaRoom was very basic but you get what you pay for and for a 2 star hotel in the middle of Florence it was a good deal. This place has a strange requirement that you have to leave your keys at the desk when you go out, which was a bit annoying.
Great central location. Pretty comfy bed. Windows that open to let in the air but which are quite good at muffling they very busy street below when closed.
