Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaRoom was private but it was more of a bnb with several rooms in close proximity, not a lot of privacy. Also bath had no hot water. Saying all that, still had a lovely stay
Beautiful location, lovely room, perfect for a one night stay as a tourist.

United KingdomIt's really hard to be negative as we got such a good deal at this place. Don't expect the same amenities and level of service as nearby hotels. This is very much a B&B and better suited to couples or solo travellers. Water pressure isn't the best and it takes the hot water a little while to come through. Can be noisy on a Friday and over the weekend as it's so close to the Pantheon and various performers. Bring ear plugs! Mid week was very quiet. Room showed signs of wear (peeling plaster).
Location is superb, walking distance to all the sights you could wish for. Be mindful that there are 100 steps to go up inside the building to get to the apartments. We avoided the elevator as it looked like something out of Hollywood Studios.

United StatesDid not like that you are not greeted at the bottom floor. Feels a little creepy coming in at evening and the intercom speaking and opening doors and locking behind you. I was very creeped out with doors locking behind me and not having a way out if needed.
Cleanliness and location.

United StatesThe rooms are narrow, however this may be the norm for the area. We had the 2 rooms right next to the breakfast. We were woken up by the coffee maker making individual espresso’s/coffee’s for everyone . The internet didn’t work for 3 of the days we were there. They didn’t seem to care to find a back-up way to give us internet.
The location is fantastic. It’s centrally located to everything we wanted to do (the top things to do in Rome). It is very clean and the staff is very nice.

United StatesIt’s not that we didn’t like it, but it is a unique place. First it’s on the third floor of a building, which we didn’t know before getting there. There is a small lift for the place so even with the big suitcases it was not a problem. Our room was for 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 13 and 15) and we fit comfortably. The bathroom is pretty small, but other than that, we have no complaints!
The location was perfect! It was less than a minute from the building to Pantheon, and you could walk to many places like Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, St Angelo’s castle, and even to Vatican. The breakfast doesn’t start until 8, but every morning we needed to leave before 8, and the pastries were already available. Coffee machine could make hot cocoa too, and the kids loved having some hot cocoa which was available until 7 or 8pm. When we got there, there were bottled water, some snacks and a bottle of Champaign, too. It’s a very personable place!

United KingdomAlthough I found the bed comfy my husbands side squeaked every time he moved which woke me up . Room at times felt small when there were four of us in there and we struggled to all sit around the table to eat breakfast so two always sat on the bed. Lovely display of breakfast pastries each morning but we found them very sweet so struggled with them a bit but that’s down to personal choice.
Very quirky and felt like you were in Rome . Great location to be.

United KingdomWe booked for the luxury suite which include the terrace but apparently it’s sold out. They did inform as in advance that we can’t get that room because we pay extra for that room instead the give a room which comfortable we didn’t complain that time because it’s too late to find a vacancy. I hope next time they will inform if the people who will book the room if it is available not.
It’s close to all the attractions food and etc.

JapanIf you have some larger luggage it can be hard to bring them up, however there is a lift to get up to the third floor so it's not too bad! The shuttle service to the airport was a little bit of a miss for us too and we had to get another taxi but it was otherwise great !
It was beautiful and so clean! It was very luxurious! So clean and the free champagne was a nice touch. I loved the olive soaps and shampoos too

AustraliaI didn't like the amount of stairs you had to climb even though there was a tiny lift. The water pressure was non existent and the hot water took a very long time to come through. Didn't help with poor water pressure. Breakfast was a simple fare and was expected to be carried up the stairs to your room on a tray. Very dangerous! The room itself was tiny and the ceilings were very low. I am 5ft tall and could touch the ceiling.
The location was excellent. Right in the centre of town and within walking distance to many sites.

United StatesOutside chair cushions were left in the rain during the day of arrival. So were soaked. I had to ask for towel to dry the chairs off. Luckily they were comfortable enough without cushions.
The arriving front desk person was more than helpful with arrival time. Was confused that on my email receipt it stated we couldn't check in between 1400-2000 due to construction which wasn't the case. Appreciate coffee being available most of day. And appreciate coordination of taxi to return to Rome airport.
