Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis property is only accessible by car. A friend renting a car was delayed on his trip to meet me so I had to walk there from the train station on a narrow winding road. There is a restaurant about 100 meters down the road across the street, but getting there by foot after dark was fairly dangerous.
Fantastic host and breakfast by the cosy fire! Extremely comfortable beds. The attic room was even nicer than I expected with small windows overlooking the valley. Lovely looking pool, but we were there in winter.

United StatesThe shower is a bit tight but, really, a very insignificant point considering how lovely Podere Sette Piagge is.
The agriturismo is beautiful and peaceful. There are fruit trees everywhere. The entire grounds are so picturesque and calming. We were given remote access to come and go as we pleased. Every time we arrived back to the agriturismo we were greeted by two sweet dogs! The old town of Orvieto was just an easy few minutes drive. Francesca had a lovely breakfast spread every morning before we set out on our adventures. We met so many wonderful fellow travelers, all with a different story and background. The entire visit was just delightful! Our room was super clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice bathroom. I loved that the towels and linens are dried on the clothes line instead of a dryer so they smelled fresh. Cold water and snacks are provided for free in a fridge in the hallway. We could not have asked for a better accommodations on our first trip to Orvieto! Would love to return some day.

United StatesWe loved the location at the foot hills of Orvieto and the town can be reached on foot or by car. The garden and pool are wonderful to relax. The breakfast/dinner staff goes above and beyond. We had a prix fixe menu on one night and it was delicious. We also met Sig. Alberto, a wonderful gentleman. Grazie, e a presto.

United StatesThe only two drawbacks are the location and the difficulty reaching the hotel if you arrive in Orvieto via public transportation. We arrived by train and saw that we were only about 1.5 km from the hotel so we tried to walk up the hill. About halfway, we abandoned this because there is not sidewalk and the street is windy and precarious and we were in serious danger. We returned to the train station and tried to figure out how we could call for a taxi - we had international data and wifi calling but not Italian cell service. We did eventually reach the taxi but it took another hour for him to show, then charge 10-20 Euro to drive 3 minutes up the hill. Podere Sette Piage is run by a wonderful retied man who has a small mini-van, it would be such excellent service if Podere just told you to send a WhatsApp message to them and they would send somebody down the hill to grab you. It would not take long and it would greatly improve the arrival process. The second downside is the location, Podere is halfway up the hill between the drab Orvieto city on the valley floor and the historic city of Orvieto on the hill above. And when I say "on the hill above" I mean if you want to explore the historic section of Orvieto, you are faced with an incredibly steep, sweat pouring down your face, slog up the hill and a pitch black hike down through the forest in the evening. There is no improving that (their location is their location) but it is important to know if you think you're just going to stroll up to the city!
It truly felt like you were staying with a sweet Italian family at their home, which was practically true! The granddaughter who runs the desk (Francesca) was so welcoming, got us set up, oriented us to our room and was available throughout the stay for all our little questions. The other staff was beyond 5 stars, so focused on your care and enjoyment; particularly at the delicious breakfast that was served each morning. They honored our requests for small items - a little butter, some more muffins - right up to the end of breakfast. Don't you hate when breakfast is scheduled to end at 10 am and by 9:30am most of the serving dishes are empty and the staff is surreptitiously trying to clean and close down so that they are DONE at 10am? That will not happen here. Another pleasant surprise was the daily housekeeping - totally unexpected but such a perfect finishing touch to a wonderful stay with them. I would recommend Podere Sette Piage to anyone who visits Orvieto!

United StatesAmazing stay at an amazing location! The owner greeted us as we arrived. The property was breathtaking, we rented the apartment and the space was fantastic. We are a family of four. The apartment had two large rooms and two bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was immaculate! The grounds are gorgeous and the two little dogs are friendly and fit the ambiance. The location is perfect, quiet yet easy at access all the beautiful towns- especially Orvieto. Extra bonus was the delicious breakfast and coffee!!! This was a five star experience with a family feel.

BelgiumThis B&B has a lot going for it: beautifully situated at the foot of the "Rupe", the plateau on which the old town of Orvieto was built; a nice swimming pool in the middle of the greenery; a spacious room; a tasty buffet-style breakfast; there's a restaurant nearby (a three-minutes walk); the center of the town can be easily reached by car (a couple of minutes); and there's a (quite steep) path at the back of the B&B that leads up to one of the town's gates. Above all, Francesca and the people who surround her are friendly and did their best to make our stay comfortable. We particularly liked the diner that they prepared on the last night of our stay.

CanadaThe wifi only worked right outside of our room, near the office. The "helpful tips" links sent ahead of our arrival seemed a great idea but did not translate to English consistently, so we missed those tips.
The location is so beautiful - the gardens and pool area are amazing. We walked from the train station, and that was not a good idea. The road outside has little shoulder and is busy, so although it's not a long walk, it is not an easy one. To go to and from on the main road you would be advised to have a car or take a taxi. You can walk from the Inn up to Orvieto along a quiet road, and we did that twice most days. It is a steep walk and you need solid shoes. The breakfasts were wonderful and the views from the eating area are beautiful. Francesca and Alberto are friendly and welcoming. Orvieto is a fascinating city - lots to see and do, highly recommend. Dinner at several locations was very good, our favourite was across the street from the hotel.
