Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThere is no storage room for your luggage when you arrive early of have a realy check-out. This means that you store your belongings in the lobby, which is pretty accessible to everyone that comes in. When you ask for your roomkey (that you have to leave in the reception when you go out) they don't check your name or anything. The towels are really bad, you can't call them towels. They are more like table cloths. If you book this hotel, bring your own towels!!
Friendly staff, that is there 24/7. We read a lot of reviews about the noise but we were happy to realize that it wasn't noisy. Maybe it depends on the room or floor you're located. Good AC, which was very needed with the heat. Breakfast is super simple, don't expect much but it's fine to start the day with.

NorwayThe breakfast could have been better. It was the same each day and there was no eggs or any fruit. There was lots of noise from traffic. I requested a taxi to pick us up and drive us to the airport. They staff said that the taxi takes credit cards but when we arrived at the airport the taxi only took cash.
The staff was excellent and very service minded.

RomaniaThe only thing we didn't like was that breakfast was quite humble. There was not a very wide choice of products and zero fruit or vegetable, no healthy choice really.
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We went to Rome for a GNR concert so we were only there for 3 days, but the gentlemen from reception were always very open to giving us information about the venue, the city, the bus and metro, even made some suggestions on what we could visit on our short stay. Very useful tips and tricks. The room was very clean and they tied it up daily, I really appreciated that. It was a lovely stay at this price point in Rome.

GreeceThe value of its price was a little overestimated (the hotel is not even located in the city centre of Rome). The bathroom was a bit tinier than expected and we also had to bring our own towels and bathroom slippers.
Very comfortable and clean rooms, they cleaned and changed the shampoos, the toilet paper and our rubbish every day after 11:00a.m. . Also, the the staff was very friendly, they served us tasty breakfast and coffee. The hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood near the metro station "Manzoni" (about 10-15 minutes on foot) and visitors can reach each destination and attraction easily.

United KingdomThere’s significant notice coming both internally from other rooms as well as from the street, which might be disturbing. Location is not so close from the city center, but it’s convenient to go to the train station
The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, the hotel was very good for the price we paid. nice breakfast, although we missed at least one type of fruit. the room was clean, and just what we needed

AustraliaThe hotel was great - comfy beds, air con in the rooms, breakfast included. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The hotel is outside of the tourist area, but it is close to trains, buses, and trams which take you everywhere. But if you like to walk into the centre of the city you'll be there in 20-30 minutes. The restaurants are also cheaper around the hotel so it's good to eat here rather than in the tourist areas.

SpainOur room was on the fist floor next to the street which is exactly beside the rail way. The train was working from 5 AM to 12 PM. It was hard to sleep and you will be wake up very early in the morning not only because of the trains but also the cars. It was a very noisy area in the down town.
The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very good. The room was clean.
