How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location being close to the train station and also close to the old town. They had thought of everything and the place was perfect for me.

Easy accessible, perfect central location, near the center and also near train station. It was a very nice space with everything you need, nothing was missing.

The location was perfect, very close to the train station and the city center. The rooms were recently renovated. They were clean and spacious with all the facilities. The air conditioning was just perfect especially during the summer. I would definitely visit again.

The room is large, very clean, with all the facilities a guest might need (including the airconditioning which is crucial in the hot summer days in Italy) and the building is well positioned (very close to important tourist spots). Also, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Avitale's warm welcome and communication. The cleaningness of the room. The quiet. The bathroom was lovely, and the finitions were gorgeous. Tea and coffee were available, kitchen to share if needed, fridge in the room, good appliances. Comfy bed. Pavia was a nice city to walk around. Would definitely go again. I felt like home but better!

What a warm and friendly welcome. They do a great job. The rooms are perfectly renovated, with lot of love for the details.The location is perfect and only steps away from the historic town. Next time in Pavia we will stay there again.

We absolutely recommend to stay at R&A Minerva Suites. Our favorite part of the stay was the warm welcome and the friendliness of the owners. They did that little extra to make our stay easy and comfortable. The place was otherwise esthetically really nice, clean and quiet.

The apartment is perfectly located close to transport links (the train station is 5' walk) and the historic city center, and is surrounded by amenities to cover all needs; being in a gated area, it's also very quiet and private. On-site, secure parking is also available, which we took advantage of. The stay itself was brilliant: our hosts were in constant communication before and during our stay, and graciously checked us in for an earlier-than-expected arrival, and, furthermore, gave us a smattering of tips about places to visit (and, more importantly, to eat in). The accomodation is bright and airy, and way, way more spacious than expected; everything was immaculately clean and modern, and longer stays will be especially well-catered for by the ensuite appliances (coffee machine, kettle, fridge, which come with a stock of teas and coffee pods) and shared kitchen. Last but not least, the bed and beddings were as comfortable as can be, and, combined with the general peace-and-quiet, gave us some of the best sleep we've had on our trip across France and Italy. Refael and Avital made us feel welcome across our entire stay, going out their way to ensure it was our best, and they definitely did so, and more. Highly recommended!

In an ideal position in the centre of Pavia, with secure courtyard parking. Avital, our host, was extremely helpful, even waiting outside in pouring rain to ensure we found the exact location, and she was full of good suggestions about what to see and where to eat. Pavia is a delightful place, easily explored on foot, and we hope to return. The apartment was simple, well-appointed and charming, with a good shower. An ideal place for an overnight stay en route to Umbria.

I got completly, totally parked in by other cars several times. Luckily I was able to change plans, but beeing completly unable to use the car when I pay extra for a parking lot is a no-go for me.
Free upgrade, washing machine included, USB port to charge mobile phone, free coffee from a Nespresso machine. Friendly and helpfull owner who proactivly answered questions via WhatsApp. Close to train station as well as historic city Center.
