What an amazing experience! The Rifugio di Mare is absolutely unique- a historic building completely immersed in nature, with a friendly and attentive staff. When we stayed there at the beginning of April we were the only guests, but all of the services were available and the staff are ready for the high season to start.

Weird vibes with the staff; couple were pros/great and welcoming, some were distant and some (unclear if really staff or not) were hanging around observing with no clear purpose barely saying hello. As the place is a huis clos, it felt a bit awkward at times.

Location in the middle of the park, spectacular views, Giulietta the fox, the terrace, food quality

The only thing to be mindful of is that you cannot drive to the hotel. There are shuttle buses, however as long as you give them 30 minutes notice they were very accommodating

An incredible find. Would highly recommended!

The views are breathtaking, walking through the park and immersing yourself in everything it has to offer is a rare treat, whilst the shuttle provides a fun alternative. For those wanting a more considered pace, paired back accommodation that intentionally reflects and complements its surroundings, then this is for you. The staff are truly the most welcoming, friendly and accommodating, I felt at home as soon as I arrived at the entrance of the park. The food was varied and delicious, and the selection of drinks are definitely worth sampling too. There’s a real energy in the restaurant during the evening hours as the sun is setting, making the whole dining experience even more special. It’s very evident that a lot of love has gone in to this place, and that everyone working here is passionate about this project and the service they provide. Renting an e-bike as means to explore the area was great fun and I was able to discover the historic town, beaches and sites with ease. Thank you, I hope to return!!

Due to the materials used to build the refuge many years ago, the AC must be going 24/7 in order to be confortable in the room.

The location was absolutely amazing. A wonderful way to disconnect from the outside world.

It is a spectacular location for endless sea views, gorgeous forest and fauna, swimming coves, and star gazing. The Rifugio di Mare is run by a friendly and dedicated group of individuals who are also the visionaries behind the rehabilitation of the 2nd World War stone structures and paths into an ecological sanctuary and place of peace. After a day of walking, sun and swimming, we returned for the 8 p.m. four-course dinner of regional dishes beautifully executed in the open kitchen. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modern modern. The original structure, which houses 5 rooms, the restaurant and breakfast room, is well integrated into the landscape, all operating with self-sufficient solar energy. Highly recommend. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed nice drinks and long, tasty dinners outside every evening. Perfect stay for a getaway with your special someone. I was initially concerned about arranging transport from the car park to the Rifugio (you can’t park right by the Rifugio and will be transported by golf cart from the parking lot, takes about 10 minutes). We did leave the Rifugio and took day trips in the area every day. The staff were incredible responsive and dropped us off/picked us up at the parking lot on our schedule.

The rooms at night would get hot hot and I and allergic to a/c. However overall the room was good

The location was unbeatable!! The hotel is situated in the middle of a natural park and it’s absolutely beautiful. It had a very nice “private” beach in the middle of the park. The restaurant is super cool, very nice food and great cocktails!

The shuttle can be a little annoying but they were very accommodating about it. The breakfast leaves a little bit to be desired but they had nice coffee and pastries.

It was such an amazing secluded location. So peaceful and calm in the middle of nature. The views were exceptional and it may have the best sunset in the area. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed having dinner there both nights, which also happened to be a great value ($35 euro per couple per night). We would definitely come back.

Very quiet, remote and comfortable hotel in the heart of nature and not far from some great beaches (by car) Comfortable room in a well-renovated refuge. Wonderful views. It was so surprising to find ourselves in the middle of preserved natural park having high-standard dinner and drinks. The staff is more than welcoming and kind, always there to content you with great services and recommendations. We've spent a wonderful time there.

    The shower wasn’t hot.

My family w two teenagers loved staying at Rifugio! The location is beautiful and peaceful, with many walking paths around the guest house. The family room was well appointed, super clean, and spacious. The staff were all smiley and friendly and accomodating. The dinner was excellent and is not to be missed. An intimate experience w chef-made food that rivals a fine dining city experience. It was my son’s birthday and the staff prepared delicious chocolate cake for his breakfast. We highly recommend Rifugio di Mare!

This place is unique. The renovation of the old barracks, the location, views and respect for its place in an ecologic park make for a beautiful, relaxing, bespoke experience. The staff are so warm and friendly always happy to help & guide but also give you space. Simone, Doris and the team really make you feel welcome. I commend them for trying to offer high quality alternative low impact tourism. The food is excellent, locally sourced, probably the best in Alghero. The rooms are well appointed too. The rifugio is in the ecological protected site so the only neighbours you have are birds, foxes, plants and trees. It's a good walk up from the carpark about 40 mins but there is an electric shuttle bus. We used bikes to get around which was simple and a great way to explore. There are gorgeous little quiet coves for swimming in the park you get them to yourselves. If you are the sort of person who enjoys being independent, nature, walking, cycling, good architecture and food then this is certainly a great place to stay. If you prefer lying by a pool and and being near facilities then I would recommend coming the the restaurant at least once to see what you think. The rifugio is in its first year, I suspect it will become very popular indeed.
