Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaNo hot water on arrival, fixed when they could to their credit. although we only stayed 3 nights and had 2 full days without hot water. Although it wasn’t as if it stopped working on arrival, it just didn’t work from the beginning. They entered our room without knocking or even asking if anyone was there. My partner was getting changed at the time. I believe this was the repair man for the shower, but the person at reception knew we were home as we had literally walked past and said hello 20 minutes prior. No staff available for assistance most of the time. They do have someone around during business hours throughout the day and reduced hours on weekends.

United StatesThe television had no channels in English and the channel guide is worthless. This was also true in 5 other hotels so not really their fault. Don't watch TV, go out and enjoy the local sites especially at night.
Good size room faced the main road but the windows are so good you can't hear any street noise. The staff couldn't have been any better. The location is great, just a short walk to most of the sites.

United Kingdomthe room didn’t have any of the facilities mentioned on booking.com it also didn’t provide breakfast either which we thought was included due to booking.com the room didn’t even have any hand soap. the bathroom shelf was broken so you couldn’t put anything around the sink.
this place has recently been taken over by new management which explains the previous good reviews but honestly. do not stay here unless you want to be ripped off. I booked this place in November for £330… after having the booking for a couple of weeks I started receiving messages saying “card declined contact your bank” - absolutely nothing wrong with my card… next my booking was cancelled. I went back onto the hotel via booking.com and my room was there, available but for double the price. there was nothing wrong with my card, the place had just been taken over by new management who clearly wanted to up the prices. if I had paid the original £330 I would have left a great review like the others left here. the photos are very complimentary. breakfast included - no breakfast served and not even notified of this! we were literally looking for the dining room in the morning?!!! crazy. receptionist doesn’t start until 10am so no one on the desk at all, she also leaves at 4pm so if you do need any help with anything you better forget it because no one is there.

Israel. The bathroom smelt terribly. We complained and asked to clean it more But it did not help it was nauseating We had to ask to clean under the bad as it was dirty. The curtain was torn so that light came in and they did not mend it
