How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I was given a third level bunk bed, it was very high up
Super clean, comfortable and easy to make friends. Really close to the port which is good. The front desk were very sweet and helpful.

The location is really good, in a copule of minutes you get anywhere of the city center. the staff as exceptional! they were all so kind, fun and helpful.

Rooms were a bit stuffy/ lacked ventilation, and more storage space in 12 person room required.
Fantastic hostel with super friendly staff and great environment for solo travellers to meet new people. Great terrace/ bar area that provides free breakfast every day and free pasta or pizza every other night.

Wifi connection in the room was poor (could be solved with installation of a cheap wifi extender). Included breakfast was very basic but okay-ish for the price.
Helpful staff, clean rooms, bar at the top, location close to metro. I had decent sleep (very good for hostel standards).

The location
Excellent location, as it is close to the train station, the seafront of Naples, bars and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. I would stay at Tric Trac again.

The location

Recommend to have a privacy curtain for all beds or at least the beds in front of the toilet, as many guests are using the toilet during night, the light disturbs all night long.
Good location to visit easily to attractive areas and safe areas. Staff are friendly, kind and supportive. Common area is great to hangout, have a rest and work. Great breakfast with various ranges. Best hostel!

My only complaint: Wi-Fi was weak in the room on the third floor… but great everywhere else.
The staff makes this place. Fantastic!

I loved the whole concept! it is very clean, easy to get to, the location is great, it’s very social yet quiet enough to rest, the facilities are great and so modern! the staff was always smiling and eager to help! thanks to Alberto for recommending me a great pizzeria nearby, it was a great way to say goodbye to Italy!

The front door makes you feel like an idiot when you go to open it (you'll find out what I mean). Maybe it was bad luck but I was always searching for a free toilet.
I had a fantastic stay at Tric Trac. The location is right in the thick of Naples so it felt perfect for everything I wanted to do. It has a nice social feel that is probably the best of any hostel I have stayed in so far. I especially liked the language class, which was far more entertaining than it sounds. The staff were very helpful when you needed any advice on activities to do. The breakfast was free, and you could take some fruit or pastries with you on your way out exploring. Even as a vegan, I could make myself a coffee and cereal breakfast with soy milk and grab some fruit at no extra cost.

such a minor thing -- the elevators were a tad slow ... other than that, I would definitely stay there again.
I would place the Tric Trac at the top of many hostels I've stayed in! The staff were amazing-amazing-amazing friendly. The breakfast, such a lovely touch. The sitting area, so comfy. Its style, fashionista & modern. I could not have managed how many people could stay in one room, but it absolutely worked re: privacy & comfort. Sitting outside on the roof top at night -- wow that was so nice. The area itself I found to be funky & interesting. Because of Tric Trac, I will visit Naples again -- and, absolutely -- I would most definitely stay there again.

Great staff. Thanks Zaira for everything. This hostel is very well situated closed to Universitá subway. The facilities seem new and always are clean. The rooms are spacious, lovely wooden floors, big bathroom and showers. Delicious breakfast. I can't wait for my next trip to return to Napoli and to Tric Trac Hostel.
