Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWifi reception was weak in cabins, but you could get a stable signal sitting outside or at the restaurant (also outside but covered). Cabins are duplexes and are not soundproof, so you will hear every movement and sound your neighbor makes if occupied. Also, there is no AC in the cabins. Even in March, it was pretty stuffy inside in the daytime, hence afternoon naps in the hammocks (which was awesome)!
The property is truly a peaceful tropical paradise. It is a very secure property. I lounged hours away, napping in the hammocks, and took outside showers in nature daily. The owners are fantastic people. The food is outstanding. If you are a nature person, this is the spot for you! I'll definitely return. Catching a route taxi is easy and it's only $200 jmd to get into town.

United StatesGenuinely the only negative was being without AC. But that’s something we got used to after a night and Mrs Penny (the owner of the property) lent us a great fan for our stay!
The property was gorgeous. We couldn’t believe it when we arrived. It felt like we were in a tropical paradise.

United StatesI was a little warm ,at times, but the night and mornings were perfect!
Aunt Penny and her husband was so polite and caring. She almost felt parental. She took us shopping and made sure we had the best values and even help make sure we counted our Jamaican money correct. She gave excellent service, checked on us every day, brought extra fans. She and her husband out did themselves with the attention to detail they; provided.

GermanyCould offer salt/pepper and a few more appliances in bungalows with a kitchen.
Great stay at Westend, east of the main road, no sea vie but jungle view. Different bungalows depending on your needs. Friendly and helpful German-Jamaican couple as host. Restaurant available onsite with Jamaican Jerk dinner on Saturdays. Walking distance to cool areas on the cliffs do hang out and go for a swim.

United KingdomIt is quite a long walk (5km) or taxi ride to get to the beach or the town.
Inge and Penny are wonderful hosts, so welcoming and friendly. The cabins are great, situated among the trees with the birds and the butterflies. There is a restaurant on site, but it is also only a short walk away from other bars and restaurants (Rick's is 10mins walk).

GermanyThe kitchen could be a little more extensively equipped. It is virtually impossible to prepare more than breakfast here. I realize that the restaurant wants to make money, too, but the first few days of our stay there were problems with the water supply in the region, which is why the restaurant was closed and we had to go eat at the surrounding restaurants, where the food was alright, but at absolutely exorbitant prices. Unfortunately, Jamaica is massively overpriced compared to, for example European islands, so in my opinion, you should at least be able to cook for yourself (if the accommodation offer states that a kitchen/kitchenette is included) in order to be able to afford accommodation and more activities instead.
The owners Inge and Penny are a very dedicated and lovely couple who take wonderful care of their guests. The property is a dream and a model of sustainable building in harmony with nature! There are many projects and also rare animal species that feel at home here. In the evening, we were able to watch the crabs on their migration. Our house was wonderful, with a gorgeous terrace and the most beautiful bathroom of our entire stay in Jamaica. A highly recommended accommodation, we really enjoyed our stay, were able to recharge our batteries and had some peace and quietness from the hectic life of Jamaica's tourist business.

United KingdomIf anything, I'd complain that the accommodation is "in the middle of nowhere". If you're expecting to get lost or have rented a car, this is great news for you but for us it meant we had to take a taxi every time we wanted to get somewhere. Luckily Inga recommended we take route taxis (which we already knew about) and advised they only charge 200 Jamaican dollars (literally £1) to drive you to seven miles beach. On the other side the famous Rick's cafe was only 10 minutes away by walking so we spent a lot of time there.
The entire space was beautiful and so cozy. We loved having a shower outside cause it felt like showering in the middle of the jungle. Inga and Penny were very warm and welcoming, during dinners or breakfast they would come to our table and chat with us. The food was very good, I'd say more on the gourmet side (so a bit pricier than other places we went to) but you could tell everything was homemade. Inga also recommended a few places to visit around like the restaurant Xtabi which again you have to drive to but its free to go down to their cliff and you can snorkel there.
