Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkVery friendly staff, they waited for us late at night as it was foggy and it took us a while to get there by car. The second night they made a birthday cake for my wife, and they gave her a surprise party. Rarely have I met people as kind and predisposed as that family. The perfect facilities, the perfect staff and your hostel a 10/10. If I had the chance to return to Jordan, I would not hesitate to stay with them again. Many thanks for everything!

AustriaEverything! It was absolutely amazing! The staff there was incredible friendly, welcoming and had amazing attention to details. It all started with a warm welcome with tea and coffee, followed by them helping us to carry the luggage inside, the most delicious and mouthwatering rice with chicken (seriously the best food on the whole Jordan visit), getting me a heater to the dinner table because I was cold, a lovely lunchbox to take with us and then even gifting us a Jordan-Magnet to take home with us. (Actually one for each of us and one for my mum ;)) The location is about a 9-minute drive away from Petra so it is more than convenient. They were beyond friendly, made us feeling like long-time-not-seen family members and we can't wait to come back one day. Thank you so much for everything! Best wishes, N & E

UkraineAs it's a "new" place, some little things were expected: not very hot water in the shower (still usable but it was cold overall in the bathroom and "normal" shower made us not willing to use it), also a bit noisy in the morning when everyone goes breakfast. But that's all minor fixable things.
I'm happy that we've found this exciting place to spend a night at. At the moment it is very budget for what it offers - we had a very great stay in a nice room with the nicest view of valley and all-things-managed. Unfortunately we didn't taste the local breakfast as we were sleeping, but the interior and very welcoming staff tells us that it should be amazing too. We're happy to have chosen this place. Super quiet as well.

HungaryWe were just a second guest in that beautiful brand new hostel, Wadi Muse was pretty close only 10 mins by car. The staff was super friendly and the reception was very helpful. The cleaners did a fantastic job, very thorough! The nice atmosphere was all around and there was a cosy rooftop with an amazing scenic view. Lastly, the food was amazing (local Jordanian breakfast)! Thank you again, I highly recommended it!

United KingdomThe bed was uncomfortable. The noise from the wind around the window was loud due to loose/missing sealant. There was no hot water for the shower on my final morning and nobody in the hostel to ask about it. The breakfast pack was very limited in taste and quality. I was told they couldn’t provide the proper breakfast and were only providing the take away packs because of Ramadan, not that catering seemed to be a problem anywhere else I visited during the day in Jordan.
Location was good, easy to get to and travel south to Wadi Rum and 15 minutes away from Petra. The home cooking for dinner was fantastic! The owner and son were very welcoming when I arrived and I enjoyed talking to the son at dinner. He also offered very good tips for visiting Petra.

GermanyThere was no breakfast, because right after Eid, the hotel wasn't ready. Instead a "lunchbox" was provided. A dry toast with meat, even though we had let them know we are vegetarians. We had to buy our own breakfast.
The staff was friendly, and the room was good.

Jordan-A little noisy at night, we could hear other doors closing and opening loudly, and some street noise since our room was facing the street. -It a 15 min drive to Petra visitor center, however the owners helped us with the rides.
-It is a family owned business. They are super friendly, they will help in any way possible, and they want to keep improving. -Cozy sitting area with a great view. -Extras, e.g. providing toothpaste and toothbrush.

United KingdomRoom was very basic. Private bathroom was tight and we had to hold the shower head. Breakfast wasn’t great with only bread (no toaster) and some cold toppings. No hot drinks or food were offered.
Family who own the hostel are friendly. We were given tea on arrival. View from the rooftop is lovely.
