Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWifi is not reaching the rooms, but this happens in any camp or hotel all along Maasai Mara, since there are no big buildings and it is part of the adventure!
Everything was top-notch! However, we’d like to highlight the quality of the food and the kindness of all the staff. The chalet rooms are really nice (and bigger!) and the tents are facing the river, more noisy but to us this was not a problem since that’s what we were looking for! To hear the sound of animals (mostly hippos and birds).

United Arab Emiratesmaybe the price is a bit high for the level of comfort: incuding the safari vehicles and a big park fees almost 200 dollars per day per person which i think everyone has to pay though i dont rememver paying so much in my earlier 3 forays into the maara when i camped elsewhere
very friendly people as is anywhere in Masai maara: a very cordial manager who gave a free room upgrade and treated us real well.big judos to him campo within the masai maara reserve and close to many happening spots. decent breakfast and dinner : not as elaborate as it used to be : they had some destruction due to floods few months back and have managed well despite that. rooms and tents were very comfortable: overlookiong the river with resident hioppos and crocs

SwitzerlandWe honestly cannot find anything that we did not like.
Our family (2 kids 9 and 11yrs) loved everything about this property! The location nestled in on the river bank was amazing: full of wildlife, hippos, crocs and birds. The tent was beautiful, clean and so comfortable. The staff were excellent! So genuinely warm, kind and welcoming-amazing service. The food was consistently delicious with a wide variety each day for all-our kids loved it! The Maasai visits made it even more special-such a cool experience.

United KingdomThere are two things that can potentially improve Quality of in room amenities Intention of water and soft drink in an all inclusive package
Staff & Hospitality: What truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and kindness of the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt so well taken care of. The attention to detail and the genuine care they showed was heartwarming. The manager made it a point to check in with us daily, which added such a personal touch. We felt completely at home, and their thoughtfulness left a lasting impression. In-Room Experience: The river tent offered an incredible nature experience. We could see hippos right outside our room and woke up to birds singing every morning. However, for the price we paid, there were a few amenities missing, like an iron, kettle, tea, coffee, and higher-quality toiletries. Despite this, the views and connection to nature made it worthwhile. Food: The camp offers a fantastic selection of Indian food, which was a treat for us as vegetarians. The staff’s attention to our dietary preferences was outstanding, and we always felt that our needs were well looked after. Game Drives: The game drives were a highlight of our trip. Our driver, Jonathan, and guide, Gabriel, were knowledgeable and took us to different landscapes every day. We were lucky to see 4 of the Big Five and loved learning about the wildlife of the Maasai Mara. The ever-changing landscapes made each drive a new adventure. Special Experience: We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a private bush dinner, which was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. We were surprised by a group of locals who came to sing happy birthday in their local language and brought a cake. It was a magical, heartfelt celebration that we will never forget.

Switzerlandkeep in mind: PARK FEE IS NOT INCLUDED - so, on top of the hotel bill, you‘ll pay $200 per person PER DAY to the park officials there (not the hotel, it‘s not in their hand). So for 3 nights I paid $600 on top.

United StatesWe should have stayed longer.
This was the BEST VALUE out there. LOVED the camp, location, beds, food etc but the staff was EXCELLENT. Sam at the front desk, Stella who served us... Mary... Everyone was outstanding and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We even got to see a baby hippo born just outside our cabin. It was 4 hours old. The game drives amazing. I really have nothing bad to say. GREAT Value for the money.

GermanyWhen booking on booking.com, no one told us we will be paying $650 extra per night because the camp was inside the park. Weather you want to go for safari or not, you have to pay $650 each night you are staying in fig tree, because it’s inside the park. We booked for two nights three days, thank God for that, because we would have being paying $650 that we didn’t plan for if we had booked more than two nights. Though according to the agent that we used, the $650 allows you to go for safari from 6am to 6 pm. So imagine if you booked four nights and after going for days safari, you are all tired of going for the rest two days but have to still pay $650 per night for the rest two days? What I am trying to say here is, fig tree should indicate in their platforms or wherever someone is booking from that, fig tree is inside the park and that it attracts $650 per day (3 adults and a kid. $200 for adults and $50for the kid). That kind of took unexpected money from us. Like a do or die situation.
The manager was so helpful, always having time for you whenever you have a question or two, great guy. The staffs were so friendly, helpful and supportive also. The masai guys and the guards around the property gave us some proper lesson about the animals around the property. They were like tour guides, great job.

United KingdomOnly one suggestion. It would be good to have tea/coffee making facilities in the tents.
A great location. Exceptionally good staff - very friendly and hard working. Considering that it had been badly damaged by a flash flood less than 3 months ago they have worked hard to restore the facilities.
